Almost a full month after I was placed in line (the San Diego office must be totally swamped!), when I logged into the USCIS website, I saw this update: "On August 20, 2014, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview. " Will update the timeline when I get the actual letter.

Here's what mine says: June 19, 2014, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling..

Hopefully soon..

Wow, in line for 2 months - LA is moving at a snail's pace. On their processing times webpage though, it says the LA office is completing all applications within the normal time frame (5 mos). So hopefully you will get your interview notice very shortly! Good luck!

Same here....still waiting. Placed in line june 18th. I got a letter over a week ago (which looked like it had been thrown in a bucket of dirty water and then had someone jump up and down on it) saying that USCIS has reviewed my file and as I am applying based on marriage I need to bring my divorce papers from previous marriage to the interview. Hopefully soon an interview date will arrive. What makes me anxious is the worry that it may get lost in the mail and I will have no clue it was even sent.

They can't keep u in line more than 90 days u almost there u should have interview by sep or October !!! I'm not even in line been waiting since my FP in June !!

I just returned from the oath ceremony...it was great, and there's really nothing new to add from the descriptions other members have given about them.

It was an important solemn day and I'm grateful it's over with a happy ending.

Now to get the SS and DL updated, and to fill the application to get a passport....but that will be next week...tonight we celebrate!

Best of luck to everyone, I'm sure your time will come soon enough.

It truly has been really helpful being able to come and share and learn to make our experience a more positive one.

Hi All,

I have a quick question, I am having my naturalization interview two days from now. One of the documents they want me to bring is my husband's birth certificate (I am obtaining my citizenship through him.) Unfortunately, we couldn't find his birth certificate. What alternative documents can I bring? I have his passport, baptismal certificate and some other documents about his birth but it was written in spanish (he was born in the Naval base in Rota, Spain.) I'm also going to call USCIS office tomorrow but I thought I'd ask here cause some of you might know. Thank you so much!
