I am a citizen!!! I am so happy it is done and that is was such an easy and fast process for me. Thank you all and good luck to you all.

My naturalization ceremony was pretty small here in Charleston. We had 21 people from 17 countries. My letter said to be there at 1pm and I was there at 12:30pm. As it happens since I was alone that another lady who was by herself too sat next to me and we chatted until it was time for the ceremony. They verified the info on our letters and I had to verify my certificate was correct. At this moment they took our letters and green cards away and gave us a little flag with our numbers. I was lucky number 13. It was about 2:10pm when we were taken to a small room in the back. We watched a video, precidents address to us and a music video. We did our oath and sang the national anthem and got our certificates. Then it was photo time and we could leave. The ceremony itself took about 30 minutes. Very happy to be a citizen.

Hi all,

Just came back from my interview, it was fairly straight forward.

The lady started by requesting an oath for me tell the truth, then proceeded to review my application, and she also requested all teh documents requested on the interview letter as well as my passport, GC and ID. she used the passport to verify the stamps from the trips I stated on the application.

Then she asked me questions about my parents, wife, kids, etc...then she asked all of the yes/no questions again (crimes, affiliations, etc, etc), I signed the application, then she asked me to read & write a sentence.

After that, she did the civics test, and these are the questions she asked:

-who's in charge of the executive branch?

-mention one of the 4 voting amendments

-who serves when the pres no longer can?

-one right mentioned on the 1st amendment.

-what was the main concern of the cold war?

-who signs bills into laws?

I got them correct, she then gave me my results, and I'm recommended for approval!!

She said I should be getting my oath appt letter in the mail within 30 days.

I'm so happy that the process is almost over!!

As soon as I get the oath appt letter I'll come here and update the timeline.

Hi all,

Just came back from my interview, it was fairly straight forward.

I just got today letter with date for my interview. It would be in Septeember 16. I have one question though, I was reading through the letter and they didn't mention if spouse is supposed to be there for interview or not?

Update:

Today, I received an email from my local office with my oath letter attached to it that I was scheduled for my oath this 15th of August after IO told me to wait for 30-45 days during my interview. The letter said that my oath letter will be mailed out today to my address and if I did not receive the letter before Thursday morning, I need to print the attachment invitation letter for the oath ceremony.

I sent a letter to my local office on Thursday ( delivered last Friday) requesting to have me included in one of two ceremonies for this month. In my letter, I told them that " this may not be enough reason but I want to register to vote on this coming election after I become a U.S citizen and before my school will start by the end of this month." Which all are true.

I wasn't sure if my letter to my local field office did the process much faster but I am happy that my journey with USCIS will be soon over.

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)
