RFE was mailed last week and I still haven't gotten it in the mail yet. Can I call USCIS to ask what they asking for in the RFE? Would they be able to tell me or just ask me to wait for the actual letter in the mail? I know I'm being impatient :clock:

look at it this way...if you called and they told you, you might miss understand and start working on something they did not really ask for.. this way with the letter...you can look over it and prepare it the best you can :)

and yes it sucks to wait...especially when you think you did everything right.

Good luck !

GC received on the 28th of February, 2014 - no interview, no additional RFE's

Divorced as of September, 2014

You can call the number on the USCIS Case Status website after putting on your number.

However, the first person you speak to will not be able to help you. They can see nothing more than you can on the USCIS website. You will need to speak to an agent. They can put you on hold to speak to one, I would recommend utilizing the call-back feature.

Neither a CSR or an ISO can tell what is contained within an RFE. Calling is useless and pointless unless you're waiting for an RFE that hasn't arrived yet and the time to respond is drawing near.

I must have imagined getting told about my RFE on the phone then when I called a week after the status was updated and I hadn't received it in the mail yet.

Strange.

They will tell you that you HAVE an RFE, not what the RFE is for. I've YET to see that on this website since I've been here. If anything every single time there's an "OMG I HAVE AN RFE!!!" thread, someone claims to have called and been told to wait for the letter.

Maybe you're special.

Thanks NLR for the info. I will wait longer and hopefully get it soon. If not, I will try to setup an infopass appointment to try to get a copy.
