My son's visa application expires in November 2014, what should I do?

Hi everyone! Here's my concern. My son is included in the K1 petition but he did not apply and travel the same time as I did (i came to the US last December 2013). The Filipino consul who interviewed me told me that his visa application is valid until November this year. And now, I'm planning to get him before his visa app expires. 1) Does it mean he only needs to finish the medical and interview part before his visa application expires? But does not necessarily mean he needs to come out here before November (cause the visa is valid for 6months). 2) I already filed for AOS last February but did not include him since he's not physically here yet, how should I file for his AOS once he gets here? 3) If he doesn't come out here by November, will he have a hard time getting another visa when I file him on a different category? The November deadline doesn't mean he must be in the US by then. You are expected to activate his immigration process before the November deadline. Once he wasn't physically present you did the right thing by now adding him to your AOS petition but once he arrives in the States, he must also filed for AOS.

If you are not able to activate his immigration process by the November deadline, all hope wouldn't be lost then. You can always file for Form I-130(Petition for Alien Relative) for him.

Thanks for that info! It gave me peace of mind cause I'm so worried and don't know how to go over his visa app.
