I had my interview on Wednesday and did not get my visa. I was told that I need to submit my husband's 2013 tax return.

My husband is self employed and his personal taxes show that he does not make enough to support me. I sent ito NVC his a copy of both his personal and corporation taxes, a letter from his lawyer outlining his income for 2013 and copies of his job contracts from last year and this year. NVC approved us based on this and did not tell me I needed to take any additional information.

I brought the original letter from his lawyer and contracts and bank statements with me to the interview and the interviewer would not even look at them. He said I could have made them up myself and he had never heard of the bank name on the statements (my husband belongs to a credit union). I'm actually very insulted that he would imply that I was lying and that if he really felt that was true he should prove it.

He said my husband's taxes should have been done already since the deadline is April 15th. And if need be I should get a co-sponsor.

He told me once I send this in my visa will be issued and it will take 6 - 8 weeks! And then had the nerve to tell me to have a nice day!

I'm guessing there's nothing I can do to expedite this?

NVC is only a document gathering house, They do not approve our packages. They accept and that is it. All they look at is the amounts and if we filled out the forms. Final decision is always the CO's.Expedite no just get the forms transcripts to embassy ASAP.

if his 2013 won't meet the guidelines yes you will have to line up a co-sponsor and they will have to investigate it for sure. Sorry you had to be delayed.

If his taxes do not show that he makes enough and you cannot prove adequate assets, he will need a joint sponsor.

FYI it's called a 221g not an RFE.

RFE is only used at the USCIS.
