AOS concerns

Hi all,

Please don't take this post as whining because I know there are people that have been waiting longer. I'm just genuinly concerned at this point. Vipul filed in March 2006 for the AOS, EAD, and AP. The EAD and AP were approved around May 2006. We have not recieved anything else regarding the AOS since. Around October we requested information on our case and were sent a letter saying that the background checks have not been completed. Online it states that our case is at the Missouri Service Center. It just seems like most people have either recieved a decision on their AOS by now or at least been called in for an interview. As far as the background check goes neither Vipul nor I have anything adverse. We got married within 90 days, filed the AOS before the I-94 expired, and have been forthcomming with address changes and ect. Is there something we else we need to do about this? I know this is a dumb question but during this period of waiting for AOS he legally can stay in the US, right?

Yes, your husband can legally be in the U.S. while his AOS application is pending.

Jamie, we've heard that effective January 1, 2007 no interviews will be conducted unless security clearance is complete.

Yodrak answered a post the other day in a manner that made me think the policy has actually been issued. I shamefully admit that I haven't researched to see whether it's official yet or not.

Remember also about 100 days before his EAD runs out, you need to be filing for a renewal.

I saw a press release at the Orlando office saying that an interview would take place until FBI checks were back. Ours were back when we had our interview in November.
