Hello all.

I filed my I-751 in Jan 2013. I did biometrics; I was given a one year extension on my Green Card. Received an RFE and I filed extra required evidence in July '13. I have contacted USCIS a couple of times in the last 3 months as my extension will expire soon.

USCIS have told me to be patient each time as my case is still pending and it was transferred to CA because of a back-log.

My problem is that I am working full time and I have a lot of identification and other such things that run parallel with the expiration of my extension.

Is there anything that I could ask of USCIS if I am to call again: some sort of an extension? I do not want to lose my job.

My application is legitimate, but I am still worried I will not receive some solid information in time.

Kind Regards

Dara

Hi Dara, that is a long time.

You are still a permanent resident; if your extension letter is expiring then you can make an infopass appointment and get a I-551 stamp in your passport which is proof of being a permanent resident. That should be good for IDs and work and things like that.

To try to get some action on the case, you could contact your congressperson for some help getting things rolling. Good luck.
