I can think of other B uses where documentation would assist, but none comes to mind for Tourism purposes.

If you're able and have the time, would you let me know which B type Visas documentation would assist? I'm genuinely interested. I'm simply curious as to how they might assist when they might not specifically with the B1/B2.

USEM acknowledges on their website that in certain cases additional documents may be requested etc. Those two "notes" were listed under the B1/B2 category; I know that's what my family keyed in on. I can't help but wonder which cases they might be referring to.

Thanks for your input.

B can be used for Medical purposes, so you need to travel to the US for specialist treatment not available in your home country, you would provide evodence of your condition and US treatment.

Business, negotiating a contract to buy or sell?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Gotcha! That makes very good sense. In light of that, perhaps that was what the embassy's website was referrering to and not necessarily to a B visa strictly to be used for tourism purposes.

Thanks.

I still think the original post might have some relevance to those who have applied or will apply for a tourist visa. At the very least, it was a nice diversion/read.

for medical visa requests, the applicant must provide credible evidence that (a) the treatment or surgery, etc,, is NOT available in the applicant's home country (not merely less desirable) AND that the medical costs are going to be covered.....so that the eventual treatment will not result in the US taxpayers footing the bill...AND that the applicant will return....

regarding visits to Disneyland, well, no documentation is required.

Certain B1 requests might be enhanced with some documentation, but at the end of the day, credibility is what matters....

Most B2 requests are not improved by bringing a pile of papers to the interview, notarized or not.

Letters from attorneys are usually handled by Hazmat teams, and are destroyed so as not to infect the human population with any incurable diseases.
