I am a little confused

who gets package 3?

...is package 3 = what you (petitioner) or your fiancee (applicant) get after you get I-129f application approved; ie, NOA2 ??

who gets package 4?

thank you

hi, after NOA2, you should wait around 10-15 days and call for the NVC to get your case number.

  • When you get your case number. you can check your case status here :https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==
  • Remember to choose immigrant visa not non-immigrant visa.
  • After that, you should tell you fiance to fill DS160 online and print out your confirmation number.
  • Meanwhile, you should make an account in this website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ in order to schedule your interview
  • Go to HSBC or any post office to pay your fee 240$. Then wait couple of days go back to the website and schedule your interview
  • Go to the vaccination and medical exam.
  • Pass the interview :)

Good luck!! i hope it helps

I believe the payment must be paid in Vietnam. Your beneficiary can pay at a Post Office there if there isn't an HSBC bank nearby.

And congrats!

is this something new by the NVC - on-line system??

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/fees/nvc-fee-payment-faqs.html

Is this fee = $240 = to pay for the "Immigration Visa (IV) application processing Fee" ??

if so, they have an on-line payment system that I can pay directly from my bank account

You will need the following information from the fee letter that you received from the NVC:

  • Case Number
  • Invoice Identification Number
  • Affidavit of Support Fee payments will appear as NVC AOS FEE.
  • Immigrant Visa Fee payments will appear as NVC IV FEE.

In this one you have to choose non-immigrant as you are applying for non-immagriant visa

As for the one to check your case status I have no clue why we have to choose for immigrant visa.

I advise you should pay as HSBC I know many people who paid there fee at the post office got their receipt number after 5 days not 2 days . And now the first available appointment for k1 visa is June 20 as yesterday was June 11. It goes fast .

Good luck!!!

i am trying to understand the process before I get the actual NOA2 letter and NVC number.

i finally figured it out.... there are so many nuances to each website

i wished USCIS and NVC centralize their efforts and that goes for the various VISA types and individual consulate centers around the world - "centralize"
