Fort Hood news conference with the base Commander now states that the shooters motivation does not appear to be related to a mental medical condition, but rather to an escalating disagreement with his fellow soldiers.

I am sure that it will be of much consolation to the families of the deceased.... :no:

Is there any consolation in the loss of innocent life? Whatsa matter u? The men and women, husbands, wives, children and family of these victims deserve the support of all American people. We may disagree with how to prevent this kind of thing from happening, but you can at least show some respect to them.

As far as I'm aware, some of the states with the highest gun ownership and the most relaxed gun laws are also the same states with some of the highest crime.

So if anyone could link me to a source that actually proves that guns are responsible for decreasing crime rates somewhere, I'd love to read it.

Oh good lord this again. Who cares where he got his gun? The fact that anyone would shoot to resolve an issue with friends, family, colleges clearly shows they have emotional or mental instability. Shooting people doesn't solve any problems, it's not a good way to get satisfaction or resolution of anything. Anyone that does this is mentally unstable whatever other rational is overlaid onto it. Killing people you hold responsible for your ills is not rational.

Why is it the only way for you to win a debate is to combat an argument that was never even made?

Since no one said "arm every person".. why are you trying to rebut it?

As for Chicago, Baltimore and Oakland, gun should be allowed to "Certain" people who qualify.

Take a city like Seattle which has a different make-up and the restrictions might be made differently.

Gun control must reflect the reality of the local area, in no case should it be hard for everyone to be armed.... that is what we have seen as disastrous.
