Preliminary crime statistics for 2011 released today by the FBI show a 4 percent decrease in violent crime–a continuation of a long-term downward trend nationwide.

Right at the beginning. Violent crime is going down and has been for a long time. Why do guns get the credit suddenly?

In fact, I can't find anywhere in your source that actually DOES credit the guns for the decrease in crime. Where does it say that?

Perhaps they should just wall off Fort Hood from the rest of the world. They send all the crazy military types there. These things are bound to happen. Send in all the crazy types, especially the gun nutters. Make them wear bunny suits, and give them all nerf guns. Make it a reality show, 24/7. Could be a huge moneymaker for the US Army.
