Hey Corvus, I know you're out there somewhere. Can you clarify whether your fiance received the first in a series of three shots for Hep B? Isn't that what you were concerned about because he cannot get the last shot until six months from now?

Even if he did receive unnecessary vaccinations, it does not stop him from entering the US with the K-1 visa. They are not even required to enter with the K-1. For AOS, it also does not matter, as it is not required for AOS, and even still only the first in a series of shots is required for AOS. It is a non-issue.

Is it normal for Knightsbridge to give unnecessary vaccinations now? I'm not paying for anything I don't need :unsure:

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

 

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

 

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

He got both Hep A and Hep B from his GP. His medical exam is April 25th. He's getting all his shots right now for free through NHS so we don't have to pay for them at Knightsbridge. Yes Hep A and B are on the required list. So far he has gotten: Hep A, Hep B, diptheria poli pertussis, tetnus, measles, mumps, and rubella. He gets the second stage of Hep A and B next week, and then the third stage in 6 months.

No matter what we think, the all knowing doctor at the med exam calls the shots (pardon the pun) anyway..

So whatever boosters he thinks you should get pre AOS you need to get or you will be denied.

Once you have the green card and are free of legal restraints, you go see your own doctor for his advice on where to go from there.

That's good. For a moment, I thought Knightsbridge were forcing people to take the shots that weren't age-appropriate to get more cash :P You'll find you don't need to worry about the Hep A and B boosters at all for the AOS stage, but it's still good to be immune from things like that.

They will issue a blanket waiver on the DS-3025 that will state unable to complete 2nd set of shots due to timeframe.

Who issues the waiver? Or do we need to find out how to do it?

Not if your fiance is over 18. Just because they are on the list does mean they are required. It depends on age, as you could read in the links both I and Nich posted from the CDC website. Also, this USICS website speaks of age appropriate vaccinations as well, and links back to the same CDC website posted in this thread > http://www.uscis.gov/news/questions-and-answers/vaccination-requirements

Q. Do I have to receive all the required vaccines, even though I have been vaccinated before?

A. No. The civil surgeon will review your vaccination records at the time of your medical examination to see whether you have proof of earlier vaccinations against vaccine-preventable diseases that are appropriate for your age category.

If you want to get vaccinations that are not required for AOS, then that is your choice. They are not required for the K-1 visa or for AOS though.

Has anyone ever been denied AOS for not completing a vaccination series that is not even required as US citizen adult? My guess is no. This is not something to worry about.

Not that I am aware of. Yep., non-issue.
