My wife's exam was conducted June '05 and she entered the U.S. as K-3 the same month. We are just now getting around to filing for AOS.

I am unsure how long the original exam remains valid. Can anyone tell me, and/or provide a link to the regulation, please?

I note that in the AOS guide, form I-693 is required. We did not get this form at the exam. We got a DS-3025. The guide talks mainly about K-1. I am unsure about K-3. I understand that, at a minimum, I-693a Supplement will have to be sent, but what's this about the I-693 Medical Examination form? We didn't get one.

Let's assume for a moment we're filing for AOS just a few months after the exam: Where would the I-693 have come from, since she didn't get that one at St. Luke's? I doubt anyone gets an I-693 at the medical. Confused!

The guide also says to include EAD application. We already have that, in addition to her SSN. Are there any considerations when filing AOS, since we already have it? I assume not - I just want to be sure.

Thanks again, folks.

Oh, one other thing...I read recently that USCIS will be forced to raise fees the first of the year. If they've done so, the fees listed on their website are not updated. Have they in fact raised the fees yet? Thanks...

Wow, a lot of traffic here...got pushed to page 4 already! :D

Just a bump here...actually at this point, I'm pretty sure we need to redo the exam and am making an appointment today. If anyone can address the EAD question I'd appreciate it.

You have until June 05 (the date of your wifes medical) to file AOS without needing another complete exam.

For the vaccination suppliment I693A you have 2 options. If you have the DS-3025 worksheet you can take this to a civil surgeon here and have it copied over, if your wife requires any more vaccinations, or you can just send in the original worksheet (if all vaccinations are complete).

note that you may or may not receive a RFE for the I693a if you send the worksheet, some have some havent.

in my case I had all of my vaccinations completed at the original medical exam and had copies of both the medical and worksheet and those are what I enclosed with my AOS package. I have not yet received an RFE for the I693a, but I am still to be interviewed yet so it still could happen. I was just trying to save an extra $75 that the CS would charge for this service in my area... and that was the cheapest within a 3 hour drive.

best of luck

Technically Annie's medical was expired, but we did not get a new one and they have not asked for yet. So, I would wait and see if you get an RFE for it. There was a case where one person got an RFE for the physical, they did it and got the green card right away.

The point is, I would wait till you get an RFE. They just might accept it.

Well, we went ahead and got it anyway...just now checking back...thanks everyone who replied. Total cost for exam and transfer of info, and two vaccinations she was missing was only $190. I say "only", only because we're not scratching and scrimping too bad right now :D

Otherwise, I know poor, and know it well.
