please help need help asap F1 Ds260 UNMARRIED but with child

guys could you please help me my brother needed to fill up forms of Ds260 he is F1visa and is current. He is going to fill up the ds260 but the problem is

theres a question in there if he has a child YES or NO. yes he has 2kids 2yrs old and 5yrs. old and unmarried. we are confused if he will answer YES or NO? if yes what are the consequences?

what will be the best answer not to cause problems or can we choose NO? please help its been 20years of wait for us to be complete here in America...and we really miss him so much...hopefully

I'll suggest, put yes.I petition my daughter and shes not married but she have a daughter .my grand daughter is the derivative of my daughter, meaning she had an option if she wants her daughter to join with her , or wait.Now they are coming both in US, this 3rd week of April.He can bring his 2 kids with him if he wants too, and it saves time, coz I know someday in time, he will be thinking on how he can get his kids to join him and live with him too.
