k1 visa approved and marriage is done. so whats next?? I-485

So we have the k1 visa approved and we got married already at the court house. So whats next? I printed out the paper work the I-765 and I-485. Some ppl on here say dont do the 485. I dont know what is true. I just want to make sure that we have eveeything done that is needed. So he can start working and have his green card. Thanks for any and all help.

Don't do the I-485? What? That's your petition to adjust your status. If you don't file that you're eligible for deportation after your I-94 expires. (Although cases of that actually happening are exceptionally rare, it is none the less a possibility.)

File the I-765 and the I-485 together, so that you don't have to pay for the I-765.

Hi & congrats on getting married, as was said before when you file your I-485 AOS form & you send the I-765 EAD form with the I-485 the I-765 is free. So you only have to send the AOS fee of $1070.00 & no other money.

You should also send in the I-131. The fee for it is also waived when filed a pending I-485 and you never know if something will come up that makes you need to leave the US while waiting for the green card approval. Have seen too many post that they wish they had filed for the AP at the same time because their green card was talking awhile and they needed to travel abroad.
