passport certified copy (NVC site says certified, Customer rep says not need to be)

I'm confused and want to make sure I do not miss anything.

On the NVC website, for the IV application form, they say:

"..You and each family member immigrating with you must also submit to the NVC a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents...."

I thought this was new to me so while checking for my claim number (still waiting since March 17th btw), I asked their CSA. They said a regular photocopy is fine.'

Can someone who was recently approved confirm whether a non-certified copy is fine? getting certified doc takes a some time from where i"m at, so I don't want to request it if I don't have to.

passport photocopy doesnt need to be certified copy.. i sent my civil docs last week

I also sent my civil documents last week. It's a photocopy of your passports' biometric page.
