Maybe a little assistance or maybe some reassurance. We have been waiting for our EAD, but was notifed today via MY STATUS and in my email, that they have us scheduled or will be scheduling an interview and will be receiving a notice in the mail.

I am a little concerned, because I thought the EAD would come first, thinking maybe they do not want to issue the EAD if the interview fails for the greencard.

Me and my new wife, in our hearts, have nothing to hide, we are in love, married, and will be forever, we live together, and does not matter how the USCIS or the interviewer thinks, I know we will be together for eternity. But, now to have to worry and rely on a decision from a person who knows nothing about my life and my wife, will make a life changing decision for us in this interview.

I feel we have all the evidence they require, but, I do not have a lot of things in our names together jointly, because, I have had bad credit and can not get a credit card in joint names in fear the creditors will snatch it. We do have a joint checking account, but I only have direct deposit for my social security retirement, which the credit card creditors can not come after.

We have our utility bill in our names jointly, but me and my new wife reside with my sister and brother in law which this rental is in their names not ours. I do have a small Life insurance policy in joint names and showing she is my beneficiary. Other than that, my proof or co habitation is limited.

The notice I received in my email about scheduling the interview without having the EAD first, is this good or possibly bad news??

Anybody with some reassurance on my behalf, or does it look gloomey??

Thank you kindly

Ron

It could be that your application is just one of the random selection chosen for interview. If it isn't, think about what additional information you could take with you.

1. A letter outlining the reason why you don't have joint assets (previous debt issues are understandable)

2. A letter from your sister and her husband confirming that you are jointly resident at the address since X date and the rental is in their names because of your debt situation.

3. Are you members of a church congregation or social club, where people who know you can confirm that you are a happily married couple?

Of course, in an interview, a couple is generally obvious to anyone who reads body language so if your marriage is genuine and goes to interview, you should have nothing to worry about.

Hope it goes smoothly for you, OP. :)
