if you've ever seen any of my posts before I'm far from a hippy. I don't like molds or labels and hence I don't fit into any of them. My opinions are based on facts and what makes most sense, each topic individually. You can't say I'm a democrat even though I'm very liberal socially. You can't say I'm republican even though I believe in the free market but you can't say I'm 100% libertarian cause I'm not opposed to all wars or all foreign aid. I also don't think universal health care is necessarily a bad thing(NOT obamacare though) even though I think when it comes to most things the government should stay out of it. But come on, it's ridiculous. How many more soldiers need to die there for no reason? Between the two wars I think it's like around 7,000 already - more than twice the casualties on 9/11. Bin Laden and Saddam are dead. There is nothing left for them to do there. There is also absolutely no reason for marijuana to be illegal, as it has far more positives than negatives, and it is much less harmful than alcohol.

I had dinner the other night with a GBI agent here in Ga. He told me flat out, most agents were in favor of legalization, and it was a drain on resources going after it

I would have to say that they are probably the closest to what I think, even if I don't always agree with them on everything. I like to say I'm probably about 80% libertarian so for me to talk about universal healthcare being a good thing is not easy, I think where I draw the line between no government intervention and government intervention is where it can actually directly physically harm people. You can say "well if someone doesn't have a job that can harm them too" but I don't believe it is the government's job to create jobs, and that would not be as direct as someone literally needing medical treatment. I would have no problem paying higher taxes for better health care for everyone, but not for insane social programs, bailouts, public schools etc. There are about 2.5 more years before I'll be able to vote(be afraid, be very afraid LOL), but once I am, chances are it will be libertarian, and even though I do not expect them to win, I don't see it as a wasted vote at all. Still better than what my wife has been doing all her life - voting for her cats.

I think you want to learn to analyze a graph better.

All that being said, most of the harm that comes with being 'in contact with' a drug user is associated with the criminal environment they and anyone around them is exposed to. The harm from tobacco is obviously second hand smoke, the harm from alcohol probably extends from alcohol induced rampages through drunk driving and domestic abuse. The harm from cannabis is probably related to tobacco in second hand smoke issues as most people do still smoke it rather than ingest it as far as I am aware and probably some driving related incidents. It certainly is not known as a drug that induces anger issues.
