Curious to know if any of you have taken their wedding albums to the interview. I ask this because albums are generally large in size and I was wondering if there would be an issue taking them inside the consulate.

if you don't want to carry Original large size Album and you make your own small size Marriage album with around 100 photos on it.

Visa Interview at Mumbai: May 19 (Approved)

Visa Status changed to Issued: May 20

Passport ready for pick up at Chennai: May 23

Passport received: May 27

POE: DFW Jun6 (planned)

I had my biometrics a day ahead of my interview @ New Delhi and there was no problem with this at all.

Did you receive an Immigration visa packet? "Sealed Immigration Packet" as it states in many guides.

My wife has a sealed packet from her medical but not sure what exactly Immigration packet is. Any ideas?

I put about 80 pictures (digital copies) in a WORD file, labeled each one at the bottom, printed the 30 some pages (in color) then stapled them together. I sent a copy of this home-made album to NVC (with IV docs). Another copy is with my wife who is going to carry it to the consulate next week. Sometimes the CO wants to see some wedding or other pics.

I think your interview would be scheduled any day now. I still don't know why they (Mumbai) skipped about 10 days of interview towards the end of June.

While booking my bio-metrics appointment two weeks ago I put my visa class as 'IR1' just now realized that its 'CR1' as per NVC communications, can't reschedule my bio-metrics now coz the next available date for Mumbai is on the 30th of June and my consular interview is on the 17th of June :(



What shall I do? Shall I just go to my appointment and explain it to the officer concerned or book a new appointment?

At your bio-metrics appointment let them know the correct visa category. Don't change the OFC appointment.

You need a copy of the IL for the Medical as well as the Biometrics. Call or email the place (doctor/clinic) for an appointment.

Also, for biometric they need to see a copy of the DS-260 confirmation page which they will stamp.

how does scheduling at delhi work? do they schedule interviews all month long?

Delhi has been scheduling interviews almost every working days of the month. But for some reason, Mumbai only scheduled until 19th June.

How long does it take for the IL to be received once interview date is given by NVC?

NVC has been sending the IL the same day (or the following day) they schedule the interview.

Interview date 7/14/2014..on First anniversary date.
