Dresden was a cake walk compared to the firebombing campaign waged against Japan, but both are clearly examples of nonreligious based total war. And both against the nations that started said war.

While the distinction may seem subtle, I don't see carpet bombing another nation one is at war with as comparable to shooting an infant in the head point blank because the infant is the wrong religion, or because God commanded all infant men, women and male child put to the sword (sparing only the females who have not yet known a man) either.

SO firebombing non military targets rich with civilians caught up in the war is ok.

One of the things that I am more concerned with is another wave a Militant Atheism, that horror we saw in the last century killed more people than all others before it in history.... COMBINED!

Be it the Atheists in Russia or China or Cambodia Cuba North Korea or any other place they took control the one unifying horror they brought was the extermination of millions, tens of millions.

And if that wen't enough they were killing THEIR OWN PEOPLE. Why? because the were religious or had glasses, or an education or had a business.

Children turning on parents publicly denouncing them and meeting out punishment.

For men, women, children, babies, the rivers of Blood flowed through much of that century.

400 years of crusades fighting to take back Christian grounds racked up deaths in the thousand.

But in just 7 decades of Communism (which held Atheism as a founding tenet) 100 million lives were lost.... and why not, if people are but blades of grass with no more value?

Atheism doesn't come close in body count to what the world's religions have produced. Not even close. Besides, while these regimes may have banned religion (that wasn't really the case either), they did not promote or demand atheism nor was any of their actions - however horrific they may have been - based on atheism.
