You should be able to apply now.. My resident since date is 06/17/2011 and I mailed my packet yesterday.. This is if you are filing based on the 3 year rule. I dont know your situation..

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

My I-751 has just approved, and I received my 10 years Green Card on Mar 31.

My questions is when I should apply for citizenship.

It shows "Resident Since: 06/07/11" on my Green Card.

studying your timeline (thanks, btw, for filling it out)

it will be

3 years after 2011-06-07, minus 90 days.

so, sometime in 2014, starting around april 8 or 9, you can file for Citizenship.

[these dates are approximate and not consider leap year or old-man-math errors]

Darnell my resident since is 6/17/2011, does that mean I calculated mine wrong? My 90 days was March 17. Her resident since date is before me, why is she able to apply not till April 8or9?

Hi everyone! I am also getting ready to apply for citizenship at the end of this month. I am looking at the checklist and I understand there are 3 items that MUST be sent with the N-400 form: photos, check and copies of my GC. The next line states :

"Only if required, send copies of the following documents (the USCIS will request originals if needed):"

I also looked on USCIS website and it states: "Send copies of the following documents, unless we ask for an original".

So my question is, do I send copies of the OTHER documents along with my initial package or not and just wait to see if USCIS will require that ?

Biometric appointment letter received on 5/19/2014 for May 30th,2014

Biometrics done (walk-in) on 5/23/2014

Inline for interview 5/28/2014

Received yellow letter indicating to bring to the interview ID/State DL and all passports on 7/5/2014

USCIS website status changed to ''scheduled for interview" on 7/24/2014

Received letter :interview date will be on 9/2/2014

Interview result : approved :joy:

Oath Ceremony appointment date letter mailed out on 9/5/2014

Online status changed and received letter with Oath Ceremony date for 9/12/2014

09/12/2014 - I AM A United States Citizen!
