I think its better just call them and explain all situation

yea, I've continued to receive updates. one RFE notification that then later changed to initial review. so I called and spoke to a 2nd tier immigration officer who told me to forget the online case status. she said the only thing that has been sent to me recently was the initial application receipts (they had been returned undelivable and now re-sent). she said there was no RFE and no card and not to even look at the case status updates... she also confirmed my address.. so I guess we will just have to wait at this point to see what come in the mail.

crossing my fingers everything is alright and that we don't get an RFE! although I don't understand why they would send an e-notification about it and then retract it?

You know sometimes sites have glitches, like other day I couldnt open mine at all, they were doing smth with it. So just wait and see what comes in the mail. Hopefully it wont be RFE! I unfortunatelly got it and I thought I did everything correct. Actually they only asked for a tax return for this year because when I filed papers it was not time for taxes yet. So no biggie.

Finally got everything sent off!

AOS from F1 - mailed package on April 2. Supposed to arrive tomorrow.

Hello,

I am browsing around different forums to lean more about the process. I am getting my package ready to sent hopefully this week. I am applying AOS from F1 overstayed after marry a USC

I came across this forum and it calls my attention that in your timeline when you mentioned the forms you submitted that you don't mention or did not send the following forms :

G-325A - Biographic Information . One for each spouse,

I-693 - Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record - if so, how does this form is filled up? did you attached a copy of vaccinations records? There are fields that must be filled up by Civil Surgeon .

I- 864 - Affidavit of Support.

Can I ask you what about all those forms ? are you going to submit them later?

Thank you

Thank you

I submitted all those forms as they are required as part of the I-485 "package"/application. The medical exam/vaccination record form has to be completed by a USCIS civil surgeon. You should find a civil surgeon in your area and bring your vaccination records with you to the appointment. The doctor will transfer the information to the form for you and determine if you need anything else as well as taking a blood test and urine sample. They will give you the form in a sealed envelope that you then attach to the I-485 application packet.

The I-864 should be completed by the petitioner and if you need a co-sponsor they will fill one out as well.

Follow this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2

and read the instructions to the forms carefully - the instructions can be found at the USCIS website: http://www.uscis.gov/i-485

Hope you don't mind if I follow and post in this group  I noticed here there are quite a few F1 out of status like me and I definitely want to follow your timelines. I finally sent my package two days ago and today it should be delivered with signature request. I have been out of status from my F1 visa for over 7 years now, my husband and I put the package together and took me almost 2 months of research to understand the process. The last couple of weeks were hell making copies, read proof 3 addendum we included, supportive documents for each one, my husband was so strict on doing the cover letters to perfection and we nearly kill each other over using capital letters, bold fonts, etc :girlwerewolf2xn: I am so glad all that is over and today the next phase of this journey begins as the package arrives to Chicago Lockbox

Was USCIS specific on why they requested your birth certificate? had anything to do with the translation? who did the translation? sorry for all the questions. I am on my tip toes here for two things, my birth certificate shows my original last name I was registered under, then with capital letters in the middle of it says IMPORTANT NOTES IN THE BACK, and in the back is the information when my adoption was official and the new last names I should use from that day on. I hope they won't fuss about that but they can do all the verifications they need to on that. The other thing is that I did my own translation and signed the certification.

Keep us posted on your case

Was USCIS specific on why they requested your birth certificate? had anything to do with the translation? who did the translation? sorry for all the questions. I am on my tip toes here for two things, my birth certificate shows my original last name I was registered under, then with capital letters in the middle of it says IMPORTANT NOTES IN THE BACK, and in the back is the information when my adoption was official and the new last names I should use from that day on. I hope they won't fuss about that but they can do all the verifications they need to on that. The other thing is that I did my own translation and signed the certification.

Keep us posted on your case

no, it wasn't the translation. my "birth certificate" was in English, issued by the Swedish tax authority since Sweden does not have "birth certificates" but rather something called "extraction from the population register." This form also lists DOB, parents etc. However, USCIS requests that this form be stamped and signed by the person who issued it. I sent a copy of that form/stamp/signature as opposed to the original so I got an RFE. I hope what I sent them now is enough! from what I gathered it should be but I guess you never know with USCIS...

so for my case, it was country specific. I think they have a list somewhere of accepted birth certificates from each country.

My package arrived to Chicago lockbox this morning :dancing: I hope this person who signed J.Chyba is not as bad as I read in other forums (old ones) that it was a "coincidence" that most packets signed by him/her got returned , got RFE or took for ever to get opened. I read some others here in vj that had no problem. We have a long weekend ahead so I don't expect to hear much soon
