My husband had his interview today, and it did not go well, (or so i think) we did not have bank statements and the officer requested a revised copy of his birth certificate to be re-translated........

I hope that with the information that she requested - that he will get approved, i feel like we took more than enough evidence and all the documents that were requested.........any advise???????????????????????

thanks

Sorry about that click2ali. Having a joint account, both names on your lease, joint health insurance, joint filing of your taxes all help to prove you are financially invested in your relationship. Did you have any of those among your documents?

Yes I brought everything, she did not even take a look. She was just asking question about "how long we lived at each address with move in and move out dates. In the end she ask me all kinds of question from I-485 if I was involve in any kind of unlawful activities and that was it. In the end she said she will be needing the copy of our previous lease and also recipt from the hotel where we live before we moved to our current residence. Luckily I got a hold of hotel receipt and also spoke to my previous leasing office, they gave it to me and I dropped it off to my lawyer's office. Officer will be receiving it tomorrow.

I am in the same boat, just make sure to send all the documents as fast as possible, even though you have 90 days to send it but you also have to keep in mind that officer can still take good amount of time after getting your documents.

We had our interview today in Newark. Got there about 8:30ish, though interview was scheduled for 8:45am. It wasn't until almost 10:45am we were called in by a female black Immigration Service Officer (ISO). She swore us in and asked my wife (USC) how we met, what I did, if she knew I was previously married, about my daughter, what work I did before and now, how long we've been living together; she answered all the questions right but didn't remember to say I worked for two weeks in a job I just quit, and I jokingly asked my wife how she could forget that in the ISO's face.

The ISO asked me if my wife had ever been married, if she had kids, questions about my stepdaughter, what my stepdaughter's relationship was like with her father; I told about the relationship between my stepdaughter's father and I regarding what he was doing right or wrong and that made for a good interactive between us three (ISO, my wife and I). She then advised my wife on what to do. She then asked me the questions on security in the form and told us she couldn't approve on the spot because my background checks was still ongoing. We were handed the "case being held for file review" document....I so wish I was approved on the spot!

Anyone with a "case being held for file review" experience, and what was the final outcome?

You should be fine once your background is cleared. I though they do the background check with after the fingerprint? I guess we were lucky, the IO only asked us one question.about how we met.
