It wont take that long. My wife was told the same thing, but her new SSN with married name came in about a week and a half. It seems like the systems they use arent in sync from time of getting EAD and SSN. If you received EAD recently I would wait about a week or a week and half before doing a name change so the SSN system will have the updated immigration status. Same thing happened at NJ DMV for my wife's state id. We had to wait a few days because they had to verify immigration status since she wasnt in the system.

Next thing to do for us is to go to NJ DMV to schedule her written test for a permit for a driver's license.

Good luck to all. Hopefully the waiting wont be too long.

My status changed to Card/Document Production today. Yaay :)

On their it says it was mailed out today. But no tracking number or anything. When my EAD was in production it said that as soon as it will be mailed out I will get a tracking number, which I got about a week later and it was sent off. Sooo... does that mean the greencard is already sent off or just in production? I'm a little confused haha >(

I had the same update that my card was mailed to me, without any usps tracking. About an hour later I received another update. I checked, and my status went back "decision". I am not sure what it is all that flipping back and forth means lol I received the letter in The mail yesterday that my petition was approved and registered. Anyone had similar issue?

We had our interview today. It did not go really good. She started asking questions from my wife (USC) and grilled her with questions. Since me and wife started living together we moved to three different addresses and we mixed up date when moved and left on each address. Shed did not ask any other question related to our family life. She requested the lease from our previous apartment. And she said send her the copy of previous lease and she will approve our case

Great and good luck, I would suggest you to take copies of all the leases where you and your spouse lived together, no matter how long ago was it. We live at our previous address about a year and half ago and it was completely unexpected that she would be needing that old of a lease. But to be on safe side I sent her the copy of our old lease also IRS statement of my wife which has all of our three previous addresses.
