My wife just received the Notice of Potential Interview Waiver letter today. Now more waiting. Either green card in the mail or a possible interview. More waiting but atleast we know they are processing I-485s.

nice. still waiting for mine. i did get a letter today for service request we called in a few weeks ago. stupid level 1 tech kid misspelled her last name on the service request. when i say kid, he sounded like he was 16 yrs old and did not understand anything beyond the customer service script. he proceeded to fill out a service request online with our information, and i said why are you doing this? i know we can do the same online. there is a reason why we are calling you in the first place. he was really adamant in not transferring our call to a level two tech.

Also got my potential interview waiver letter, dated July 29th. Maybe another 6 months of waiting but no big deal.

Looked on the website and my travel document still says initial review even though I have received the combo card, anyone else have this happen?

i would probably bring a certified translator. not someone from your family or a friend...

Just a quick update, GC wasn't approved on the spot during the interview, but 24 hours later I got an email notice stating it has been approved.

Today, I got the notice in mail, and that I will have the card within 3 weeks.. yippie!!!!

:dancing: :joy:

Went for my interview today, appointment was set for 9.20am, but we arrived at 9am. We waited a bit until 9.25am and we got called into the immigration officer's room. Got sworn in, and then the officer proceeded to check both our passports, and some documents, and asked to verify my full name, my current address, my birth date.

Some of the questions asked:

  • How did you met?
  • tell me more about your wedding
  • Do you have any joint account/statements to show me?
  • Show me your marriage certificate

And then she went through the I-485 form with me, e.g. when were we married, do I have any children? and the questions from Part 3C of the form (involve in any organization, any crimes, involved in terrorist act, etc.

She then printed out a letterhead and state that this is what she always give the applicants, and that she need more time to review our case and we should have an answer in our mail within 30 days. Dang! I was kinda disappointed we were not approved on the spot.

Anyway, my EAD's already on it's way to me, so I guess we just gotta wait out a little bit more.

AOS approved on 7/31/2014. Took 116 days.

ROC approved on 10/26/2017. Took 463 days / 15 months 2 weeks.
