I received first email this at 8.00 am about my EAD is shipped and my case status was still Card/Document Production. Soon after that at 8.31 am, I received another email stating that they have mailed the notice of approval and my status jumped down from Card/Document Production to Post Activity Decision. Has anyone came across with this before.Another thing, they did not even give me any USPS tracking number. My Time line is below

04/21/2014 sent out I-485, I-130, I-765

04/22/2014 Package delivered to USCIS Chicago Lockbox

04/29/2014 Receive NOA

05/07/2014 Receive Notice to appear at application support center Houston, Tx

05/27/2014 Finger prints and picture done at application support center

07/03/2014 Case status on I-485 application change to Testing and Interview

07/08/2014 Interview scheduled for August 7th 2014

07/11/2014 EAD Card/Document Production

07/17/2014 Received email and text Card/Document Shipped (EAD) at 8.00 am

07/17/2014 Received email and text stating that they have mailed notice of approval for my employment authorization.

I received my EAD Combo Card today in the mail. Went to the Social Security Office to apply for SSN. They told me my passport and EAD isn't enough I need a Naturalization or Green Card with it? What's the point of applying for EAD when you can't use it? I don't understand

thats the first time i heard of that. My passport and ead was what i used. Unless that person doesnt know what they are doing

Hm I don't know what to do. It was one person working on it at first, then she asked her co-worker after awhile they asked to supervisor to help and all of them said the same thing. I was so dissappointed. Do you know if I can work with only the EAD or do I need a SSN?

If i were you i would try another social security office because they clearly doesnt know anything. You can work but eventually u would need the social for your info to be entered into the system.

Another thing you can do is go on the social security website and print the webpage that states what documents is needed to obtain a social and bring it into their office to show them smh

So this morning i called USCIS and representative told me that they are currently working on december 2013 cases and hasn't got to may 2014 cases so i have to wait.she also told me that when my case is out of normal processing time i should go to the USCIS website and schedule request for information.I ask to speak to a tier 2 representative and she wouldn't put my call through,told me they wouldn't have any different information to give from what she told me.

Couple minutes ago my husband receive a text that the EAD status is updated.so i check the USCIS and see it is in production but my AP status is still on initial review.does anyone have EAD status update and AP status not update and still got both?

All prepped for our interview on July 21st, but just got a notice of deschedule today:

"Dear Applicant:

We regret to inform you that due to circumstances beyond our control and due to no fault of the applicant, we must cancel your appointment scheduled on: 7/21/2014...

PLEASE DO NOT APPEAR ON YOUR PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED INTERVIEW DATE."

Also received a new interview notice (not the same format or letterhead as all previous communications) for August 18th.....

Damnit!! What does this mean?!

I got my SS card with my passport and marriage certificate - and that was nearly 4 months ago. You shouldn't need anything else -- sounds like some people don't know what they're doing at the SS office!

They mail the EAD card. To find the tracking number, log into the USCIS case track website (https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do). Enter in your case number for your AP or EAD (will likely start with three letters, followed by about 9 or 10 numbers). When you log in, there should be a message with your USPS tracking number; copy or write down the tracking number and check with USPS (https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction!input.action) on the whereabouts of your card. From my initial approval to delivery, it took approximately 10 days.

They told me the same thing when i first tried to get ssn. So what i did is i went to the main SSA office in my place then i got a ssn. So obviously not all ssa office know what to do with immigrants ssn. Xoxo all the best!
