He should be able to get a driver's license. With his EAD. I think this will depend on the state in which you guys live. But they will have to verify his status with the uscis, which takes up to 2 weeks. Once the uscis confirm his status, he can go back to the DMV to get his license. The only problem is that his license will have the same expiration date as his EAD, which is 1 year. He will have to renew it later with the green card.

Day 81 and still no update on my EAD. Tried calling and said they cant do anything until the 90 days is up.

Yes! For the K-1 Visa my husband provided a personbevis stamped and signed by Skatteverket, which was accepted in lieu of a birth certificate. For I-765 and I-485 he was told by the Swedish Consulate in San Francisco that they would provide the personbevis, they wrote a letter, everything was stamped and signed. We got an RFE for this. A lawyer that we spoke with (but do not actually use) believes that it was because it needed to be from Skatteverket directly. His mom then had to go to Skatteverket in Sweden, got his personbevis as well as his mom's and his dad's each page was numbered showing that they were all together as a single document. I have also heard from the lawyer that he had clients who would get something rejected, send in the same document, and it would be approved. Luckily ours appears to have been accepted.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I submitted the original, with a print from travel.state.gov that clearly showed what is the necessary document for us Swedes. Hopefully this should be enough. My only concern might be that the personbevis is printed in March, but nothing has changed since and the USCIS officer simply cannot be that picky. Only time will tell!

05/07/2014 Receive Notice to appear at application support center Houston, Tx

05/27/2014 Finger prints and picture done at application support center

07/03/2014 Case status on I-485 application change to Testing and Interview

07/08/2014 Interview scheduled for August 7th 2014

I would suggest you take everything possible, if you are adjusting your status thru marriage, take photos of you and your spouse together, joint bank statement, lease or mortgage agreement, auto insurance under both of your names, any bill with both of your name. Usually they do not ask for all that, but I would rather prepared. I am planning to take all of that including my life insurance policy and my wife's medical record stating that we were about to have a baby but she had mis-carriage. I hope this help might be little helpful.

I would suggest you call again until you get someone who is really helpful.

Sometimes you will have to tell them that. It suggests on the USCIS website that after 75 days of my priority date. I can call and make a service request about my EAD case. Keep calling. Good luck.

My interview letter states I have to bring everything if I haven't submitted already. So I plan to put things together in a folder and one big photo album. I think to print more pictures but I have more than enough evidence and strong marriage tie.

status changed to testing and interview today thank God the rfe is gone, then this afternoon I got another message saying my card has gone to production, its been a good day all around

does anyone know if the status on the i130 ever changes?
