Hey guys!
I have a question about the biometrics appointment. Mine is scheduled for next Friday and I am unable to find anyone to babysit for me so I will be bringing along my almost 2 year old, and I'm not looking forward to it haha. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there's usually a long wait and how long the actual appointment takes. Is it just fingerprints and a signature for the green card or is there more to it?

For what I experience it was about 10 to 15 minutes wait time .

But it depends how busy (how many people in line there is .

You can bring your child it's not against the rules , but there is a limit on how many people you can bring .

What office are you schedule for biometrics ??

I'm in Las Vegas, I'm sure it's different for each office and all but I was just kind of wondering if everyone is waiting forever like some government offices seem to work. I hope it's only a short wait like yours :) What all do they do at the appointment? just fingerprints?

I think it's strange to receive the biometrics but not the hard copy of the NOA's in the mail. Should I be concerned ?

also I have the msc numbers from the text msgs and email. Are these my receipt numbers ?

Good morning.

Please don't worry you will get your i765/noa. Very soon . Be aware that this are acceptance letter and your case is not aproven until the review your forms .

Goodnews is that everything is good so far since they give you a biometrics appoint .

Yes the numbers that they email or text you are the receipts numbers and you may use this to check your case on uscis .gov. .

I hope this answer all .

:)

Jack and Maria, Although I'm in the same situation as you, so am not speaking from personal experience, I agree with what GOODLUCKTOUS said. I think it's a good sign that you got your letter. We filed and got our email updates to say they accepted the applications (AOS and EAD, no AP), but we haven't received the hard copy of the NOA1 yet. I actually thought the bio appointment letter we received was going to be the NOA stating that they had accepted the case. I expect that to come along soon enough.

We got our Biometrics appt letter Saturday. Dumb question, but can you still get RFE's after you get that letter or does the letter indicate that processing of your adjustment is nearing an end?

Up until they actually approve you they can ask for evidence at any time. I am just starting this process myself, but having been working in this immigration system for about 15 months now, I feel it's fairly safe to say that an RFE can be requested anytime up to and including the interview itself. It all depends on when someone looking at your case decides that there is not sufficient evidence of something and sometimes that evidence can need to be more or less depending on who is looking at your case, and also, the specifics of each case.

I wouldn't really worry too much about it, because I have faith that the vast majority of honest filers, even if they make mistakes get them corrected eventually and get through the process eventually. It's all just a matter of patience.
