Hello, my fiance will be doing her CFO on 4/07. I'm considering going ahead and reserving a flight for 4/21 due to a really good rate that won't stay like that for long. She has all her documents and then some for the CFO :-) Any suggestions or advice welcomed! Thanks in advance!

Never, Never and Never buy your ticket before her medical, CFO sticker (certificate of completion is OK) and visa are complete and in hand. There have been many who have experienced the same thing you are doing (booking and paying for tickets before the process is complete) and booooom something happens in the process and it gets stuck and now you are really really stuck and holding a very expensive plane ticket since now you will pay the penalties to rebook.

Wait till everything is complete and then book your tickets.

The reason for my advice is that little or nothing goes wrong with the CFO. Visa is usually delivered a few days after the interview, but weird things sometimes happen, so yeah certainly wait for that, but you already have that.

Other than a typhoon or earthquake or Martian invasion, not a whole heck of a lot can go wrong with the CFO, provided you get there early enough to not get bumped. So I stand by my advice.

And for extra security book it two days after the CFO, not the next day, so you have two shots at getting it right, not just one.

No problem making the flight reservation - that is as long as your fiancee clears through CFO without them causing problems - which most do not have problems. Arrive at CFO early as there are only 15 seats per session in Manila, one morning session, one afternoon session. It is a half day seminar and she can get the CFO sticker when done.

There is info on CFO in my link below.

They have already completed the embassy interview back on March 11th, just need to get CFO over with.

Agreed above. She has at least 10 days to complete CFO. ;) Most only need one shot. Your fiancee won't surely have any worry if she brings all the known documents that CFO is known to require. :)

That was my point. Do not buy a ticket till CFO, medical and interview are completed and they have the documents in hand. We know what the experiences are at CFO, they think they are "god".

CFO is not that big an issue, most have zero problems at CFO and the sticker is issued that day, I don't see much issue grabbing a good reservation a couple weeks down the road.

Just get there early so she does not get bumped. 4 AM would be a good choice.

Only if the applicant wants a morning session. Not all are morning people you know. ;)

If they don't get one of the seats for the morning session they will be signed-up for the afternoon session, so going early is a good thing

Definitely! Somebody even went to CFO at 2am. (yours truly). By 4:30 am, all 15 slots for the USA morning session are filled-up (on that day). So ... Yes, the earlier the better!
