hi everyone, so I have some good news...this process is taking so long that my husband and I decided that he will try for a visitor's visa, I really want his first experience visiting to be when its warm and not in the middle of winter....well he didn't get the visitor visa, the good news is that the CO told him that he couldn't issue the visa because he can see that my husband will be migrating in the next 2-3 months....I know this is not official and I don't want to get anyone's hopes up but it made me super excited that maybe just maybe the visa bulletin will move forward when the new fiscal year starts...I'm focusing on the positive

I believe so too because a friend went for the interview in June after retro and was told to come back in august... PD in 2012 but not before may 1 will try to find out exact date. :thumbs:

Same thing happened with me. My CC is 26 March n my PD was current for May interview still they did not schedule it by telling us to wait, called NVC multiple times. And right now,my PD is nt current. :-(

Yes, even we have this fear of retrogression and we explained the same to the supervisor at NVC and he said don't worry that wil not happen with you as visa no. Is already allotted for you and you can get interview schedule anytime just wait. Let's see, I am hopeful for next week now.

@sam240984

I have a hard time believing these "authority figures" anymore. They always say " oh you are not going to be affected by retro" and you are filled ith hope, then before you know it you are in retro! Happened to so many F2As with this June retro, including myself.

I suggest you be on that phone with NVC every single day and try to squeeze an interview date out of them. I also suggest you send an email to NVCexpedite explaining your situation and see if they accept your expedite request. Attach a copy of Mr. Oppenheim's prediction for India EB2 for coming months. Looks like its gonna stay as it is only for next three months or so.

F2A category is still a bed of flower compared to EB2 India. That thing is no joke. The swing of PD on that goes +(-) 10 years, it's unbelievable.

What really gets my goat is they squander 55,000 visas on completely unnecessary stuff like diversity lottery visa! Seriously, so many super talented people waiting for a decade for their number to come up, and they collect these random people from around the world as if there is any shortage of diversity in America! There should be a survey as to what these diversity lottery winners have contributed to American economy, education, science, technology etc in the past two decades. Probably nothing.

Hello,

I don't know you guys, but that article gave me hope :). I trust on Chief Oppenheim's predictions. So, according to what they say, next September 2014 Visa Bulletin will move forward to late fall 2012.. Also, they were talking there about the cutoff dates for Mexico, we all know that Worldwide dates are normally ahead from Mexico, maybe we can expect more progress for Worldwide F2A.

I know I'm being optimistic, but we never know...

Happy Friday to everyone! (F)

Here is d detail of prediction:

DOS Predictions: FB2A to Move Forward, EB2 India to Retrogress

July 15, 2014

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) has announced that it will now begin to issue a report each month intended to provide reliable predictions and analysis regarding the movement of cutoff dates in the visa bulletin. These reports will be based on discussions with Charles Oppenheim, Chief of the Visa Control and Reporting Division, U.S. Department of State (DOS), following the release of each month's visa bulletin. The predictions made in this month's AILA report, and summarized here for MurthyDotCom readers, is in addition to the insights offered in the August 2014 Visa Bulletin.

Family Second Preference "A" (FB2A) Likely to Advance Soon

Chief Oppenheim predicts that the long-stagnant FB2A cutoff dates will move forward in September 2014. As of the August 2014 Visa Bulletin, the FB2A cutoff date stands at March 15, 2011 for Mexico, and May 1, 2012 for all other countries of chargeability. In the upcoming September 2014 Visa Bulletin, these dates could advance, "possibly as far as late fall 2012."

Conclusion

The Murthy Law Firm appreciates the willingness of the DOS, and specifically Chief Oppenheim, to provide insights into the expectations for visa bulletin cutoff date movement. The movement of cutoff dates in the monthly bulletin can be mystifying and frustrating for many. The predictions and explanations offered by the DOS at least should help to provide some transparency to the process.

If this is really gonna happen then I feel somewhat relieved .... At least it gonna move forward ....late fall means may b Oct or Nov 2012 ... This will b abt 4-5 months movement ...

Hello everyone, after almost 4 weeks of case completion I received a checklist today which I believe is a false checklist.

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The NVC has received the information you submitted and placed it in your case file. You will be contacted when your petition is sent to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for further processing.

Please advise, what should I do. We were expecting interview schedule and we received this. Does this mean they will take another 4 weeks to schedule the interview. I am really worried now. Even calling NVC everyday doesn't help, they don't give appropriate response and if you ask many questions they seem to get annoyed. It's really frustrating even after waiting so long now we have our dates current and we are still not getting interview slot.

@love_my_wife

Not everyone on Eb2 is IT factory worker. There are many PhDs piled in that category. If they are given stability early on in their career instead waiting for the GC till they are middle aged, I bet they will be much more productive and society at large will benefit from it.

My husband got his GC on EB1. He was my BF then. One look at the EB2 and he said no thank you. Worked exceptionally hard, you won't believe how hard. There was much personal sacrifice to make himself EB1 worthy. By the time he actually applied for EB1, he had 40 publications, ten exceptionally talented and famous professors and leading scientists wrote him reference letters, and he got his green card in four months. But, he is exception not the rule. Thats why EB1 is "C" even for India and China. Not every other phd is not so accomplished as him at the initial stage of their careers to qualify for EB1. Hence they go on EB2.

As you have no sympathy for the people on EB2, who work hard nevertheless, I have no sympathy for those "poor people" of the world who win lottery and achive the same thing what a phd strives to achieve in the US working extremely hard for 15 or more years.

Do you mean that you received this checklist after your case complete?, and if so I think you just can ignore it.

Yeah..I got my case completed on 24th June and this checklist I received yesterday. Ok even I think I should ignore it. But I am worried when about my interview schedule, it's almost 4 weeks since case completed and we have not heard anything, I hope this false checklist doesn't delay the interview schedule further.

You'll probably get I/L by last week of July up to first week of August. Interview will be in September.

If you check my timeline, I waited a month after case completion to get the I/L.
