Hello again visa friends ))

My fiance Lily, from Samara, Russia has her interview all planned out for the 16th of April. We have gathered all the appropriate paper work, crossed our T's and dotted our i's. She is in the motion of translating all of her documents also. So everything up to this point has moved very well...

I, to the best of my knowledge, am absolutely beyond the 125% poverty guideline and provided substantial documentation of our relationship over the past 2 years. Including our first summer together, 40 pages (front and back) of emails, pictures of our trip to Hong Kong. Receipts, W-2's, 1040's, yada, yada, my parents (bless there hearts)) have both agreed to be co-sponsors as well. We don't think it will be necessary but we are taking no chances. So!...

Any advice for the nervous fella who is anxiously awaiting this most important date? Any ideas of how we might expect this interview to play out considering current events in Russia/Ukraine?

I don't foresee any problems, but obviously with something so important coming up I am just a little on the jittery side lol.

Also, just for some timeline info, we sent our initial packet and petition for the K1 back in November after our trip to Hong Kong, which was amazing btw). we received our NOA2 at the end of January 14' and the interview has been scheduled since the middle of Feb. 14'

Has anyone else petitioning for a K1 with a Russian fiance have any info that could settle my nerves? or anyone in general. It is all VERY appreciated!! thanks Visa Community!)

any feedback would be appreciated... of course everything is in place and what will be will be. I believe we have shown enough proof of our ligetimate relationship. I would like to hear something from anyone who has recently been through the process :) thanks again!

~ Moved from K-1 Process to Russia regional forum - OP seeking experience from those that have interviewed in Russia, this would be best place for those answers ~

You can only have one cosponsor. So choose one and only send in that documentation. Remember you yourself also send in a 134 form and supporting documentation.

Also examine your evidence and try to make an evaluation of it, will it show to a total stranger, that you have a legitimate relationship? Evidence on it's own may not do that. I drafted a Cliff Notes summary which I titled Evolution of Our Relationship. In it I described how we first met, what we talked about, how we agreed to meet in person, what we talked about, our agreement to pursue the K-1, what we talked about, then NOA2 and how our conversations changed to discussing and planning for new lives in the US. All along I referred to specific evidence to support the relationship timeline.

My fiancé had her interview on March 21 and all went well. I decided to join her for the special day and was a little worried about the political issues between the US and Russia, but I didn't notice any differences from my previous trips to Russia. It sounds like you have everything in order as we did, so I don't think you will have any issues. I would review the potential questions list, but from what I experienced, they were most interested in the truthfulness of the relationship. I am not sure if my being there helped as there were several other women there alone that were approved, so good luck!

this is also great news! I am very happy for you 2! We have actually been reviewing the questions for the past couple days, seems it was the right choice since they probably base part of the decision on this process.

Thanks all for the encouraging words. It has helped me on this most stressful of weeks.

I only wish I could be there with her but I truly hope it all goes well without me there. She is going to be in contact with me on the day. I almost don't even want to be at work lol.
