Hi all, hopefully I am in the right place to ask this question. When looking at the USCIS webpage, our status moved from Initial Review, to the Testing and Interview stage on January 15th of 2014. How long is the average until we recieve some sort of notification of when we have an appointment for an interview? It seems like it is dragging along, and hubby seems to think the government takes forever to do anything so he is not so worried as me. Does it normally take a long time?

Thank you for any help,

Aiqi in Atlanta

It might take a minute to get an interview. Atlanta is very busy and backlogged. I'm in Atlanta and waiting on my interview, too.

Wow... we are the same city, nice to meet you. So how long have you been waitting for your interview?

I received the note a couple of days ago. I have some friends going thru the same process in Atlanta. Some waited up to 6 months. Some just a couple of weeks. Im not really worry about the interview. I have my EAD/AP thats all i need for now. GC will come when it comes. It gives us more time to collect more bonafides and move into our new house. Patience is the key….

How long have you been waiting for the note before you didn't get it? I‘ve been waiting two and half months and have never information and dont get note. And your friends waited up to 6 months , did them need interview? or just waited and get green card. Thank you!

my case status changed a couple of days. we sent the papers in in January 2014. So from mid January to the testing and interview aprox. 76 days. Now we will see when we get our interview date. Yes, some waited 6 months and still had to go to the interview. Only if you receive a interview waiver letter there won't be an interview. They are responsible for all of Georgia and Alabama and are therefore the busiest office in the Southeast. just be patient u will get your interview.

hey, I was fingerprinted on 6th January and about the end of February or the first of March got my combo card.

every case is different & it depends heavily upon what field office you are closest to. My status was in 'testing & interview' for 5 days, then I got a scheduled interview date posted.
