Giving a woman a compliment on her looks seems a bit dated except under the right circumstances. I think if a woman is receptive of receiving compliments it would be about her achievements rather than the superficiality of outward appearance.

I would be willing to bet that most women take great pride in how they look and do not consider their appearance to be superficial. Maybe the multi billion dollar fashion and make up industries are an indicator of that? I don't know many women who don't take time to make sure they look their best before leaving home.

"Excuse me Ma'am are you receptive of receiving compliments?"

"What is the compliment in reference to?"

"The smell of the perfume you have applied to yourself to make you smell different than your natural fragrance."

"No, I have no time for that type of compliment today, only compliments of my personal achievements are being accepted today."

So what types of commendable achievements do you have? And which ones are acceptable to compliment you on?

That's why I keep it to certain things. If I work with her, I'll say congrats on a promotion or getting a new degree.

Those industries rely on concepts of beauty and self image that place too much importance on outward appearance. As someone who has worked in visual arts, I am not against aesthetics, but challenge the status quo of what outward appearances mean and whether our reactions to such superficiality only perpetually reinforce stereotypes of how men and women interact with one another in public.

Challenging the status quo is fine, but the fact remains that most women (and men) take great pride in their appearance and physical attraction is most usually the first attraction between people.

If is difficult to understand how you see a women's beauty as some kind of fabricated gimmick we have all been sold on.

As if the desire for certain features would all dissipate if we would just stop being lead by runway fashion moguls.

While it is true fashion and slight variation as to what the ideal woman looks likes is always in flux

I think the truth is, advertisement and money capitalize on an enduring part of our human desires.

-To see a desirable women

-To be a desirable woman.

Let us know when you achieve the greatness that is to be a desirable woman Danno.

You're welcome.

I said I had high self esteem, not accurate spelling skills. I really do not care that much if I spell something wrong, but thanks anyway :)
