  1. 1. 87%? Really?

    • I am male and I believe that number is probably true.

Ladies, ladies. Don't you know it's our role in life to be decorative and take catcalls, vicious comments and entreaties to "smile, you stuck up b!tch" as compliments from the men of the world? Know your place, ladies!

Yes, LOLOLOL, it's so funny when you're made to feel unsafe just going out in the world and being human and doing humany things.

So people go everywhere by car? Livin' in the 'burbs, yo!

"I can't imagine anyone that lives differently from how I live. I know everything, that's why everything I read just reinforces my point of view. Then I post articles in VJ to show everyone how it is. I stop reading anything that differs from what I know because it is wrong."

I don't have a car Danno. Can you believe it?

Would you say your car (or life) situation is in the 87percentile of american women?

I'm not doubting this happens my question was "what do they mean by harassment ... and if we were using the term properly would the rate be at 87%.

What is "properly" harassed? Is this like "legitimately" raped?

If I feel unsafe or demeaned by what someone says to me when I'm just looking at stuff in Best Buy, or crossing the street to get a coffee, or waiting for a friend at a bar, yeah, that's harassed. I'm on the passable end of the conventionally attractive scale. I'm no stunner, but I don't curdle the milk. I'm also now An Old, having passed a big milestone birthday recently. Yet I guess I must get random comments or leers 4 or 5 times a week. I don't dress "sexy," I don't wiggle my bottom. I walk around with Resting B!tch Face most of the time. But by the mere fact that I am female and in the world, apparently I am making some sort of statement. A statement that says: "Say something tacky that reduces me to my physical appearance and your attraction to me, because heaven knows, it's always been successful for you in the past."

I know you are right.. I was just funning. Flirting is like cooking . You start out slow and turn up the heat unless they stop smiling. I know the overt stuff is harassment, and I agree , but I see no harm in some low level flirting. In fact , I don't see nothing wrong with a ...Never mind that is a song

P.S. If women find Men passing gas so gross, why do they laugh and giggle every time we do..That is positive reinforcement

It's a good idea to flirt with people you have been introduced to, not just random strangers on the street. Anyone who thinks ladies thrive on street whistling and other 'harmless' comments simply doesn't understand or respect women. It really IS that simple.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

If women would stop wearing short skirts, dresses and heels and struttin' their stuff like they were on a mission, the harassment would come to a grinding halt. And I'd bet dollars to donuts that it's mostly those hot, sexy RUB women who are drawing the majority of the attention. No way anyone is whistling at CABA chicks walking by in sweats with curlers in her hair chowing down a bag of Cheetos.

Of course, bring back the burqua! What are women thinking of going out in the street with their legs showing and their hair uncovered? it's a total disgrace and they get what they deserve!!!

Depending on how you define flirting, I don't think it's appropriate in familiar settings either. Some guys think they're so charming that they get off thinking that they charm the socks off women, except there's no consistency because they only do it to women they think are pretty. You watch them talk to someone else and it's like they have a split personality. Be real. Be yourself and treat everyone like they're your brother or sister as Jesus preached.

Sometimes they show cleavage too, another dead giving away that they are looking for attention. And then when men notice and comment, they get mad.

I was being generous and defining flirting as something mutually acceptable, not drooling drivel telling a girl how great she is with the sole objective of obtaining a sexual encounter.

Women should never step out of their front door unless fully covered, how dare they think they can just please themselves and wear what they like without some guy thinking they did it to attract sexual attention?

I know right. You talk to a hot girl with her boobs falling out and she acts like she gets offended when she catches you looking.

I may sound sexist, but women often do and like the opposite of what they say. They all say they want a sweet gentle man, that treats them like a Queen.

I've been catcalled and masturbated at while wearing a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt two sizes too big, with no makeup, while walking through a grocery store parking lot carrying a container of kitty litter. I've been told I have sexy legs and followed by a jerk in a convertible while wearing my then-boyfriend's t-shirt and a pair of denim shorts that stop at my knee, while walking a dog and carrying a poo-bag of, well, poo.

I don't know how I could possibly be looking like I'm looking for less attention, yet it still happens.
