    • I am male and I believe that number is probably true.

Women are not excused from bad behavior. They too behave in a pack-fashion when it comes to launching demeaning and harassing attacks against men. Consider the poor wall-flowers who spend all night to work up the courage to walk to a table of pretty girls to ask for a dance only to be shot down and rejected; not with just a no, but with rude comments also. Not all women behave this way. Some are kind. Same for men.

I think it would be interesting and perhaps telling, what each person observed from their mothers and fathers while they were growing up, like, if you watched your dad gawk at a strange woman walking by. I don't recall my dad ever displaying any of that behavior. I came from a family of 6 boys, no girls. In fact, my mom told me that there was one time where she was walking with my dad through the girl's dorms (he was in charge of campus housing at a university) and some of the girls whistled at my dad. It upset my mom because she was about 6 months pregnant at the time. My dad thought the whistling was silly and immature. He was just that kind of person.

There still are manly-men out there who resist the puffed and powdered metro-sexuals who cower in fear from the woman army that represent the war on men. Men can in fact be strong, and kind, loving and gentle, tough, yet focused. There's a big difference between a man who openly disrespects women and the rest of us.

This thread is disgusting for so many reasons.

It does not surprise me in the least that they think 87% is a high number. It also doesn't surprise me that there are some people who have now started a rant about compliments/harassment. I guarantee you the 87% who answered this poll weren't talking about the gentlemen that came up to them and told them they look lovely today.

And then there are the few who decide to deflect, "women do it too!" ... I bet not nearly 87% of men have been harassed by women on the street. Which is the topic.

Anyway - you've never truly lived until you've had a stranger yell out something disgusting to you in public. Bonus points if multiple people around you hear it and stare at you. And all you did to deserve it was exist and have the nerve to go outside.

Oh but they do. If I had a buck for every "Hola, Papi" that's been thrown my way, I could retire.
