I think it's a tough job, and they should deserve an award of some kind. Think about USCIS staff receiving, opening, and accepting/rejecting applications because many of us forget to sign one spot or simply forget to include something. I really think it's a tough job. We all (both petitioner and beneficiary) should be grateful USCIS staff are working hard to meet our (sometimes unreasonable) demand.

Yes, I just read it as they got an award based on their website. Not for their direct client service.

To those who believe we should go back and read what was written. Trust me we read it carefully enough. Why would any government agency be awarded for doing their jobs? Customer Satisfaction Surveys, E-Verify Section, performance metrics bla bla bla......Please everyday common Americans go to work handling everything thrown at us. Corporations cut back benefits, add duties to already overloaded workers, layoff long time employees, and generally never think of the toll it takes on moral. We work 10, 12 14 hour days without even thinking we have a choice other than being unemployed. Awards should be given to every person that has done their jobs faithfully, shown up when no one else does because a little snow has fallen, and for those of us who simply make a difference in the lives of others by simply doing our jobs to the best of our ability. We pay for those services, those improvements, those awards given to useless agency workers that make our lives a living hell for months and years. Let's be a little more supportive of our fellow visa journey members. And the comment about "Spanish speakers" was really about illegal aliens who spoke Spanish. After all one of the AWARDS was given for increased speed in adding translated content to USCIS.gov español. Given the fact that we are all trying get our loved ones here legally spending hours of our time, lots of money, and an amazing amount of effort to accomplish our goals leads me to believe that some people truly don't understand the impact illegal aliens are taking on us. My love is spanish speaking and I am not offended.

People are plenty supportive of their fellow vjers. However, I'm always shocked that people think that government employees aren't actually doing their jobs. I've worked for the government. They have processes upon processes. It's an inefficient system that no one individual has the power to overturn just because someone wants their case processed faster. I'm not saying it's right, but if you want change, then you have to effectuate change at the appropriate level.

I got the intention behind the Spanish Speakers comment and disliked it, that's why I said it.

There is nothing about immigration that's meant to be fun or peachy when going through it. My process from start to finish has been well over 17 months. So, I get it.
