Anyone with experience please help me. Here is my problem. My husband and I are both Muslim. We met on a Muslim Marriage website and decided to marry within 4-5 months. I spent a month in Morocco and have not been back since that time. We are now at the National Visa Center and about to submit our AOS and IV package. Its almost our one year anniversary and I can finally take off work to go see him again but if I wait I can go in July and spend part of Ramadan with my husband which I would love.

The problem is we have 2 red flags.....short time knowing each other and face time is only the one time so far. Things are finally moving fast and I worry he may get his interview before Ramadan. My question is should I just go soon and see my husband now so we have more face time before the interview? Or would they be understanding at the Casablanca Consulate that we are Muslim and want to spend this religious holiday together?

I have no family that is Muslim so my past Ramadans I have spent alone. But if it will jeopardize my husband's interview I would spend it alone again. I miss him terribly so I am OK with either decision. So pls, someone with experience or knows anything about the Moroccan consulate, your input would be greatly appreciated.

There is another option: schedule the interview for after Ramadan/ during the time you will be there for Ramadan.

Check the interview thread that dweels manages to see the wait time for interview scheduling for Casablanca. Sometimes it's out a couple of months. I think you'll be ok to go for Ramadan. My husbands interview got scheduled at the end of August for the end of October last year. Good luck!

Why send in your NVC docs right away, if you're worried that means he'll get an interview too soon?

Do you have other red flags? How long had you known each other before filing the initial petition? More face time is always good, but I suspect they give more weight to the face time earlier on in the relationship, when the couple was deciding to marry and immigrate. With that said, I can't remember many couples getting through Casa lately with just one meeting, though I suppose stranger things have happened.

Well, it's what you can afford the trips and if you have the time to take off, you can go now and then go again when it's Ramadan. Well, sometimes you think the NVC will go fast but actually it can be delayed too. I tried to plan it out because our NOA2 was approved in March. I thought he would get interview in June or July. But by the time it got transferred and submitted the stuff. We got a checklist to resubmit something else. Plus it was Ramadan and they have limited hours. So it ended up they didn't schedule his interview until in August.

Personally, I think you should go because of your relationship and not because of the petition process. They will know it's the quality of your relationship and not the quantity. But I would have to say quantity would help because it will show that you two had more face to face time. As long as you are able to prove and show that you two have a "real marriage". Then don't worry about the so-called "red flags".

Believe me, if you knew the details of me and my husband's relationship. On the surface, someone not knowing us could judge us and say we have a lot of red flags considering that I am not Muslim, we met online through Facebook, and we have a big age gap too. But we love each other and that was what shined through.

Good luck and just be prepared with getting your evidence ready to illustrate what that your relationship is about.
