As long as you do everything in the correct order you should be fine.

Even when you do things in the right order, sometimes you run into issues where you have to stand your ground, such as the SS office, and the License bureau. They don't always understand their own processes.

Also, we received a letter a 4-5 weeks ago stating that it may take 6 more months for the AOS to be approved. But last Friday we got the notice of approval and the card is supposed to arrive today!

Journey so far:

09/14/2012: Sent I-129F Packet

09/21/2012: NOA1 Received

04/22/2013: NOA2 Notice of approval
05/08/2013 NVC Received

06/01/2013 Packet 3 Received

06/04/2013 Packet 3 Sent

06/10/2013 Packet 4 email received

06/27/2013 First Scheduled interview-cancelled (didn't get notarized paperwork in time)

08/12/2013 K-1 interview passed!

08/28/2013 Lili Arrives in the U.S.!!!

10/04/2013 Marriage!!!

03/26/2014 AOS Approved!

04/02/2014 Received GC

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and think of what could go right!

Hello all,

I'm still confused! My fiancé who came to the US on 12/22/2013, who is now my husband. We got married on 12/31/2013. We already applied for AOS and EAD. His I-94 expired in March 2014. My question is if my husband wants to apply for a driver license how do we got about this in CA? Because our I-94 is expired and the DMV (department of motor vehicle) is saying they will only approve the I-94. but what do we do if I-94 is expired and my husband is currently waiting for his EAD and his AOS approval. It feels like my husband is stuck and not able to do anything until all this is approved...what do you guys think?

thank

Most states will let you apply for you driver license once you have your EAD.
