bleh... lots of waiting in lines today for almost no end results :( . Got SSN applied for, everything's a "go" there, but no can do on a bank acct, state ID, or addition to water/sewer bill  . The only thing that got accomplished at DMV was me getting my name changed w/ a new license - it's absolutely the worst freakin' picture ever taken of me - it looks like i weigh abt 700 lbs :crying::blink::help: - I almost want to pay the $13 just to get a new pic - it's really gross....

hugs to ya moody & saving up some for the green eyed chicklet! i may need a dang hug from the trauma of this butt ugly pic i now have on my license.

any idea how long till the ssn card arrives? then you should be able to make the other changes listed above. for nessa it was right at 4 weeks.

she didn't need ssn for for her dl, military id card (used passport # as temporary number), or addition to water/electric bill btw.

they said it should arrive w/in 2 weeks.... can't get DL or ID until we have a reciept of AOS filed  . Can't get added to bank acct til he has valid ID- gotta check other bills, got too frustrated after all the waiting in lines. Of course, I was getting a little cranky b/c I was getting hungry - just looking at my new ID should steer me clear of food for months! That rationale lasted abt 5 min, then I got home and made a salad & grilled salmon.

Thanks Charles....

We're moving slower then you, Noura. We're waiting on our marriage certificate, then doing the SSNs (his new one and my name change), then adding him to bank account and bills. He's already on our benefits and listed on my life insurance. They didn't require his ssn to do that, thankfully. He's also listed on our lease now. Geesh. So much think about. And my stupid digital camera just died on me. I had just finished transferring our marriage pictures to the computer. Is that a good or a bad sign? Ha ha.

(Oh, and I'm helping him learn to drive. Valium anyone?_

wow it's amazing the differences between the states about a dl and such. nessa got hers without even having the ssn card yet, just had to take the marriage license with us.

thanks for the reminder! and thank god Said is a wonderful driver (he is doing most of the driving now unless we're going some place new he's never been). I don't actually have a lease since I rent from Mom & Dad - wonder if we could draw one up for the purpose of AOS?

T4E made a comment that got me thinking...how many of yous are putting your SOs as beneficiaries on your life insurance policies? More specifically I'm wondering about those of you with children. My life insurance policy isn't huge but my kids are the beneficiaries (1/2 to each). I don't plan on changing it either.

Sarah, how was your outing on Sunday?

It was really nice, thank you!

As usual we didn't do what we planned but we still had a great day. We put together a big box of maternity clothes and chocolates for Hicham's sister who is pregnant in Morocco.

We also saw the movie thr3e, and it sucked.

Thanks for asking, how was yoru Sunday?

I'm stuck doing a grant proposal that's due tomorrow. I slept all of 4 hours last night. That ws my Sunday.

 You sound like me. When I went to have my name changed at the DMV, I went stylin'. But, on the license, my hair is BRIGHT ORANGE and I look like a hillbilly from the original Grand Ole Opry! Yours can't be worse!

Thanks, Jenn!

It makes sense that your husband is the ben. since you don't have kids and when you do (isa) he'll be the father so they'll be in his care if, God forbid, anything were to happen to you. That's what I'm curious about.
