Hi everyone

I've been in the USA for 8 weeks now and got married last week. About to send the AOS paperwork and I am confused about the medical. Am I having to go to a civil surgeon here in the USA to fill in the 1-693 paperwork? I had my medical back in aus in nov 13..thanks

I have read that you do not need to have another medical examination for AOS.. But I may be wrong, Hopefully someone can give you a solid answer :)

Don't need another medical exam but yes a CS must complete the vaccination section of the 693. Shop around since many are "scammers" who will insist on charging for a full blown medical.

Did you obtain a copy of the dS-3025 form at the medical? That vaccination summary form will help the CS.

If you vaccination was marked complete than you don't need to see a civil surgeon. If it is marked incomplete that you will need to see a CS to complete an I693

This is not correct. It is not so black and white like that. It is not about it being marked complete. You most likely would not have one marked complete due to all the shots that would be not age appropriate or time interval too short between doses. Read the post that was linked above in this thread.

Disagree with baron555.,. as if you have had amedical within 1 year..,.,you do not need a cival surgeon, just forward your paperwork from your medical, if it is less than one year.

My wife entered uSA April 24 2013.,.,. filed AOS early July,.,.,.,received GC.,., around first of 2014.,.,about 5 and 1/2 months.,.,.EAD/AP was much quicker.

No interview for AOS, NO cival surgeon! Her medical was March 2013, AOS.,.,.,was finished early 2014,..,. no problems!

Try to stay away from these extremely "greedy" people that are on the governments ""LIST"" to serve as a "cival surgeon",..,.,.just more govt. bull #######!

my husband had his medical before interview in Turkiye and once here in America he did have to see a civil surgeon to get the second round of some shots that require a series. he got first group of shots during medical but had to get another in the series to be considered complete. we were already married and he was on my medical insurance so everything got billed as routine and the insurance covered it 100% as preventative. only thing we paid for was the civil surgeon wanted cash to fill out the paperwork, she gave to us in a sealed envelope and we sent that envelope along with the AOS application

In 2011, I was told on here, my husband didn't need to see a civil surgeon as well. After reading so many people getting an RFE without having seen a civil surgeon, we just decided to go ahead and see one. During our AOS interview, the CO was looking through all our paperwork, and said Mohammed you will need to see a civil surgeon and send back the paperwork. Thank God we decided to do this. All was well after she saw the forms.

My fiance had her physical in sep 2013, she arrived here in Nov 2013. We went

to file the AOS and I called USCIS to find out about the I-693. They informed

me that a civil surgeon needed to sign it. I called a civil surgeion and they

woudn't sign it unless the gave her a full physical and updated the shots. It

cost me 600 USD. I was pissed to say the least because I really didn't know

what to do before I had her take the physcial. I called 4 different civil

surgeons and they all said the same thing, that she would have to have the

full physical to get her to sign off on it. Needless to say my health insurance

wouldn't cover the physical. But, after its all said and done, I am not

worried about a RFE. GOOD LUCK!
