AAAArrrrg….. I just got an e-mail stating the following....

On April 1, 2014, we mailed you a denial decision notice for this case I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION. The notice explains why the denial decision was made and the options that may be available to you. If you have not received this notice within 15 days of April 1, 2014, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision….

They denied the I-131 too with the same response? I filed the K-1 to AOS I-485, I-765, and I-131… In November 2013..I called two weeks ago to inquire why I had not received anything i.e. Biometrics etc… They said someone would contact me by 03-22-14… Nothing no contact…I have been following my status online and no updates no RFE no mail correspondence and then I get a letter of denial…DOES THIS MEAN THEY DENIED MY I-485 too. I have not received the letter yet so I don’t know what the reason is….Please help..any ideas?… Thx

I don't know the answer to your question, but I am curious to know what could be the reason for denial of an EAD?

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

11/09/2013 - I-129F Packet mailed to Dallas Lockbox                                                                                         06/22/2015 - AOS packet mailed to Chicago Lockbox

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

06/19/2015 - Wedding (L)

The ROC journey:

10/12/2017 - ROC packet mailed to VSC

01/21/2019 - ROC Approved - there was no interview

The N-400 journey:

02/16/2020 - N-400 application filed online

02/21/2020 - Paper NOA received in the mail

03/13/2020 - Biometrics

02/02/2021 - Interview & test - Approved

02/05/2021 - Oath Ceremony

If you have not heard anything from them at all, then my vote is that they sent you a biometrics that you did not get and you failed to go to biometrics and therefore were denied.

I would confirm this, then follow up with them, saying that you did not receive any notice.

I would call them and also make INFOPASS.

Edit: For anyone reading this, you are supposed to call them if you have not received a bio appointment in 30 days.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Is a biometrics appointment mandatory for all AOSers?

Yes, unless they are under 14 or over something like 79.

For the i-485 my two K2's age 11 and 7 were required to do a biometrics appointments for photographs and thumbprints. This was mandatory, if they did not show up their applications would have been considered abandoned.

Ok..update...after I called I got a letter for a Bio-they stated that the letter for the original Bio was returned unable to deliver...which was a lie..they never sent it....Got an Appointment for a Biometrics April 23, 2014... Meanwhile I got the denial notice via text email...April 23rd found out they denied it because they said they sent a RFE for to translate the Birth certificate back Dec. 2014...Never got a notice in the mail no email update no status update and when I called to check my status they never notified me of a RFE update..Just the denial notice.....April 24, sent off the RFE with a 129B motion to reopen cuz they I gave specific instruction to send all mail to my PO box cuz my mail box for the residence is 2 miles from my home (Rural)..They have been sending my mail to the rural box and it probably was stolen...However the Bio came to my PO box.. So I gave copies of my original face sheet stating all mail goes to PO. Box (and on the app it shows mailing address as my PO box) Sent a copy of the denial notice which shows they sent it to the Residence (in error) instead of the PO box. so I believe I have enough evidence showing that they sent the RFE to the wrong address. Contacted my congressman and senator for help. The part I dont get is that they can notify me of my denial 3 different ways but only sent me one notification for the RFE via standard mail (they should be sending this stuff by certified mail)...my latest case status shows.....On May 5, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I290B, NOTICE OF APPEAL TO THE COMMISSIONER. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case.

Glad you got it worked out and your EAD card is now in production. I would keep on top of things to make sure they have the correct mailing address in their system now.
