Hey there my fiance was placed in Ap for two months then we got an email from embassy requesting for his passport. After he dropped his passport off I checked his status on ceac it went from administration processing to ready case open now back to ap its been two weeks and still in Ap! What the hell is going on I am so confused. I know its a good sign when it goes from ready to ap then issues but we have been waiting for two weeks now and still nothing. Usually people statues updat to issue the next day after going back to Ap as I have read on here.

There is no rhyme or reason as to how often you shift between READY and AP, or even get an update and the status does not change. It is all normal stuff that shows they are processng your visa. Just check it once a day, and one day very soon you will see ISSUED.

AP is not always a bad thing. Normal processing is also called AP.

Asking you for your passport is the best news you had so far. That means they were ready to start normal processing.

AL422,

Thank you for the comment but why it is taking this long? I mean today it is the 17th day that I have dropped off my passport at the embassy but still I am on the AP...Does it really take this long for the visa to be issued once they get your passport? I was on the initial AP for months after the interwiew and then one day I got a call to drop off my passport. But now it has been 17 days and nothing..

Hello everyone. My husband had interview in abu dhabi us embassy last sept 23 2013 for immigrant visa until now still under AP. It's more than 10 months now. I contacted senator and even congressman, no response! It's so frustrating to see our son growing up without a father. Why this is taking so long? He has no criminal records.
