Hi guys,

I sent my AOS in December. The USCIS accepted it on Dic. 12. Currently, my case is being processed at the National Benefits Center. My biometrics appointment was on Jan 15. On Jan. 9 they sent me a request for evidence, which I sent a few days later. On March 31 I received a Notice for Potential Interview Waiver Case, which stated that the case could take another 6 months. Is this an automatic message that everybody receives? Usually, how much time is it supposed to take to process the case?

There is no way to know how long it will take. As you can see by the posts in the thread recommended above - it could be a couple more months or a year. A VJ friend of mine ( goes by Peter_Pan on this site) Got one of those letters and after waiting almost 14 months she was notified that she was scheduled for an interview. So, the letter doesn't mean for sure that you won't have an interview.

It does not mean you will absolutely have to wait another 6 months. That is just the letter everyone gets and the general time they are giving.

~ Moved from AOS from Family Based main forum to Progress Reports sub-forum - topic is case status ~
