Well that stinks! But it doesn't sound like too much longer of a wait for you guys. We are scheduled for Mumbai June 18th! What questions did he get asked?

Yeah I don't think it will be too much longer. Just wishing I had listened to my instincts about sending in that I-864a rather than listening to NVC. :-(

Hubby's head was kind of reeling after the interview, so I couldn't get clear answers about the questions out of him...But I'll be chatting with him again in the morning so I'll get all the details then once he's had time to process everything and I assure him that we're taking care of things on my end. :-)

But so far, my advice is just to practice the sample questions you can find on here...thats all we did and he said it was an easy interview. Try to think like a scrutinizing embassy officer. Will be back with more updates soon!

Guys finally my visa is issued. In fact I was handed it today along with the yellow envelope at the embassy today. Thank you Dwheels76 and Saylin. If people read my post I had gone for my Interview on the 8th of the month. My visa category is IB1 (VAWA). The CO interviewed me and after the Interview handed over a white slip with the box ticked administrative processing. She also returned my passport. However yesterday my status changed to Issued. Minutes later I got a call from the embassy to come there with my passport. I was at the embassy today and the person asked me to wait for 10 minutes. Finally he called my name and gave me my passport with the visa and the yellow paper. I am so happy and thankful to god that my ordeal is coming to an end. I want to thank everyone here and the site. Thank you

Thanks for sharing! Urgent question!!!!! Could you please tell me, if I understood correctly, your dad filed I-864a, but now the IO asking your mom to file I-864a too? Do your mom and dad file joint tax return? I'm asking, because my husband's brother also filed I-864a for me, so does his wife have to file I-864a too?

I am the primary, so I filed I-864 and my Dad is co-sponsor so he was required to file I-864 since our incomes are seperate.... we each file our own tax returns. My dad files joint tax return with my mom so they are now requesting the I-864a from her. Even though I had asked NVC several times and they told me, "no need". I would say if a co-sponsor files a joint tax return, the I-864a would be necessary for the spouse on the return.

Hi guys. I just called 2GO courier (Philippines) and they said that my visa is already in transit and will be delivered by tomorrow (so happy for that) but when I asked about my son's visa they said that the embassy haven't released it yet. called the embassy too to double check it, and they said the same thing. I checked his ceac status and there's no changes with his "ISSUED" status.

my question is, is it normal for our visa not to be delivered at the same time??? should it be together with my visa??? anyone who experienced this??? hope you can enlighten me guys.

When we have our interview scheduled, I will be traveling to Teguc with my wife and daughter for the big interview day. How does that work? will they speak to all of us as a family or will they single my wife and daughter out and interview them separately?--

My wife does not like the interview process only because we actually have applied for a tourist visa in the past and she went to those interviews alone and was DENIED. I am not worried about the merits of our case or the evidence that we have (extensive)-

Only today did I think of them separating us, either way I am going with the plans and HOPES of returning to our new life with them shortly thereafter. a little history we lived as a family for several years in her country before I returned to USA.--

I really can't answer your question about can you go in embassy. Your country portal page has no consular information. I would suggest asking this country in your countries forum. Also have you gone through the 40 interview reviews? There may be information there also.

You are almost done. :goofy:
