Waiting since March ? That sucks. I thought waiting time is around a week or two for the interview to be scheduled. Hopefully, it'll happen soon for us.

So its 5 of us from India waiting for interview date. Anyone left out?

You're on a different scheduling procedure though, i believe, the visa being an F2A.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

i think if you want to make lists for statistics purposes you should separate IR1/CR1 from F2A because they won't be scheduled at the same time/with same logic applied.

I'm the beneficiary.

Do people with CR1/IR1 visas get interview priority over k1 or k3? And is anyone here going through the embassy in Abu Dhabi?

Nope not even. Look at how fast they get processed and at the embassy level there are tons of slots for K1 but few for IR1/CR1.

I don't know if it's the same in all countries, but Russian K-1's schedule their interviews themselves (which would be the preferred option for me, rather than being told what to do when).

I'm the beneficiary.

Hello everyone, I'm not at the interview stage yet but having trouble getting an interview-related question answered. I am filing abroad from Australia but using a joint sponsor who lives in the US. My joints sponsor feels hesitant to send me his only original birth certificate (from a hospital that no longer exists) for the interview. Will a certified copy be okay? I have original birth certificates for myself (the main sponsor) and my husband (the immigrant). Thanks in advance!

You only need to send the original (or certified copy) of the beneficiary (or applicant's) birth certificate to NVC. The sponsor or the joint sponsor does not need to send their birth certificates. Please read the NVC Guide again.

Thanks for the reply Bkghosh, but I must not have been clear about what I was asking. Per the NVC guide that I read thoroughly, I sent a copy of my joint sponsor's birth certificate. I am asking about at the embassy for the interview...The embassy wrote to me in an e-mail to me:

Thank you for your inquiry.

We must have the original signed Form I-864 from the petitioning relative and joint sponsor. We will accept photocopies of the joint sponsor’s birth certificate, tax returns and supporting documents, however, the consular officer reserves the right to request to sight any original document if he/she feels it necessary.

Thank you

U.S. Consulate General, Sydney

So I am wondering if anyone has had the interviewer ask them for an original of the birth certificate for the joint sponsor, particularly people going thorugh the embasssy in Sydney Australia.

Why do you feel you need a waiver? maybe you are worrying needlessly or do you know for a fact he does.

Well think even if you are outside you maybe too stressed because you don't know whats happening inside. So you must do whats best for you.

I am pretty sure my husband will need a waiver because he was already found inadmissible by the CBP in 2011 under Section 212(a)(2)(A)(i)(I) of the Act and had a I-194 waiver to be able to visit the U.S. so I am pretty sure he will need to do the I-601 to be able to cross and immigrate to the U.S. I am correct in assuming this right?
