Hello VJ, good things are happening. Plenty of case completes, interview schedules, and CEAC status changes. This past couple of weeks has been very exciting for most and I'm happy for you guys. I am one of the few here in VJ who did not make the cut for May even though my case was completed almost a month ago. The reason, I believe, is being F2A category and my PD. I now realized that for F2A, case complete date is irrelevant for interview scheduling and I'm so far back in the queue. With the impending retrogression, I need to look for other options. One option I have is an expedite request but I know this could be a long shot even though I think I have a valid reason.

Another option is to upgrade my category to IR1/CR1 as I'm eligible for naturalization. This would take another 3-6 months for naturalization process and more for upgrading the petition, but still better than waiting indefinitely when retrogression hits. Is there anyone here who went the same path? Would you advise this? My wife is the principal beneficiary and our 3 children as derivatives. The children have separately approved USCIS I-130 petitions. When I filed I did not know that they were eligible as derivatives. So now at the NVC stage I did not push their cases since NVC added them as derivatives and gave each of them BIN. What would happen to the derivatives when I upgrade? Will they be processed as separate cases? Or can I use their separate I-130 petition? When I called NVC, the rep was unsure at first but when I pressed on, he consulted with his supervisor and was told that doing so will reopen my case and cause further delay considering that my case is now complete and just waiting for interview. And then he goes "at this point I would not advise you to upgrade". But with imminent retrogression, do you think it's worth to try? Please advise if you are familiar with this, your response will be highly appreciated.

No you will have to start a I-130 for him. File it and ask USCIS to expedite it talk to a tier 2 supervisor once you get your case# and maybe they will expedite.

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

I sent email asking embassy to reschedule interview date to prior date and they informed that is not possible due to too many interviews. hmm.......

I guess that is the end to that..... May I try in another week? If there is any empty slot comes up (due to cancellation).... Not sure what to do....

Embassy website has only email address and fax no. There is no phone number listed. So is it ok to call second time instead email?

OH MY GOD. I just got my interview schedule! I never thought how good those words sound. Thank you NVC agent Rick for bringing the good news. Hey dwheels76, miracles DO happen. Thanks for all your support.

It appears they started the second round slot for Manila. Good luck to those still waiting.
