I'm having serious trouble with this site. My husband and I can't figure out how to schedule his biometrics. step 5 on the link you provided says to follow instructions as per your category after logging in and clicking "schedule appointment". However, the only button we see after logging in is "new application/new appointment" on the left hand column opposite the "dashboard". clicking this leads to more problems. We select visa type, etc...but then it asks for personal info. Upon completion, it says the details match an ID already in their system. Get this....its the ONE I"M LOGGED IN AS! It won't let me continue beyond this.

I'm terrified and confused.

What browser are you using ? Try Internet Explorer and see if that works.

I didnt have any problems. I scheduled once and canceled and rescheduled again without any issues.

Hello VJ, good things are happening. Plenty of case completes, interview schedules, and CEAC status changes. This past couple of weeks has been very exciting for most and I'm happy for you guys. I am one of the few here in VJ who did not make the cut for May even though my case was completed almost a month ago. The reason, I believe, is being F2A category and my PD. I now realized that for F2A, case complete date is irrelevant for interview scheduling and I'm so far back in the queue. With the impending retrogression, I need to look for other options. One option I have is an expedite request but I know this could be a long shot even though I think I have a valid reason.

Another option is to upgrade my category to IR1/CR1 as I'm eligible for naturalization. This would take another 3-6 months for naturalization process and more for upgrading the petition, but still better than waiting indefinitely when retrogression hits. Is there anyone here who went the same path? Would you advise this? My wife is the principal beneficiary and our 3 children as derivatives. The children have separately approved USCIS I-130 petitions. When I filed I did not know that they were eligible as derivatives. So now at the NVC stage I did not push their cases since NVC added them as derivatives and gave each of them BIN. What would happen to the derivatives when I upgrade? Will they be processed as separate cases? Or can I use their separate I-130 petition? When I called NVC, the rep was unsure at first but when I pressed on, he consulted with his supervisor and was told that doing so will reopen my case and cause further delay considering that my case is now complete and just waiting for interview. And then he goes "at this point I would not advise you to upgrade". But with imminent retrogression, do you think it's worth to try? Please advise if you are familiar with this, your response will be highly appreciated.

Patience is virtue, my friend. Everything happens for a reason.

Hi dwheels76 or anyone,

My file has reached the embassy on last Friday evening. I would like to give it a try to reschedule the the interview for early date (at least 2 weeks prior) and not sure which method to use to communicate consulate. Phone call or email? I prefer email as then they can look at the case and reply back. Is there a place I can find sample letter to make the request.

Thanks in advance.

Upgrading to IR-1 will void their derivative status and then you will have to file 3 separate petitions for the kids. You are inviting a lot of headache and trouble.

Hopefully you will make it for June.

If you can call call. How ever your embassy communicates. There is no template to asking. Just ask. If you want to give a reason you can may help even more.

I know a friend who did it stated her oldest child was graduating from college and she wanted her husband to be there since it would be his first family meet and greet. There date was moved up 6 weeks ahead of the date she requested. So get to moving and call tomorrow.

Are you logging in with the beneficiary's email id ?

Just an update for anyone that may have this problem in the future or be searching for answers later on. My husband had previously applied for B2 and was denied, so parts of his information was in their system, but some was no longer current. Somehow, logging back in with updated information caused 2 accounts to be created under the same email address. We had to call USTravelDocs directly and they had to manually block one address and any others associated with the account...apparently my husband had tried a different email at another time. But doing that created problems in sending temporary passwords.

So they erased everything and created a whole new user ID and gave him the temp password over the phone. This finally worked and we have finally scheduled the appointment.

Basically email addresses just get stuck with this account and don't get replaced if you update information through the site...so if there are errors showing, its usually has to do with repeat or stuck information.

Thanks for the help tho everyone!

Hi dwheels, I have a question can you please help me to clarify, could it be possible to add my step son to my husband's case? Or it is too late? Nvc must have an approved i130 for every beneficiary? Our case is already completed.

Hi,

I received the following email and was wondering if anyone has received this and what it means?

'The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified. '

The reason I ask is my case was completed last week and I am now waiting for an interview date, could this mean my interview date has been assigned?

If 2nd round has potentially opened anyone from London embassy been scheduled in the last week?

Thanks.

This is just the email notification of your case complete, it normally takes a week to receive it. My cc was April 3 and I received the same email April 11. Still no interview date, I missed the cut off for the first round and NVC can't say whether there will be a second. I'm hoping in a couple of weeks we'll get good news for something early in June.
