I thought the fingerprint is done on the day of the visa interview? Has that changed? My wife is scheduled for her CR1 interview on May 14th. Will the fingerprinting need to be scheduled?

Yes you are going through India totally different. Read the chatter here go to your embassy Consular Information on the India portal and read what you need to do. Alot to do and it must be done before interview. I would get on it now guess appointments fill up fats.

Unless there is special things for your embassy like "delivery of Visa/passport" or if its pickup you should research that. Click on Portal and it takes you to the Singapore page than click on Consular information and see or go to the embassy website.

Should be the only fee left is the $165 after you pick up Visa and you have up to a year to pay its the payment to produce the green card.

Be sure to fill out the Case Complete form so you can be added to the Spreadsheet. Its in my signature. Greatly appreciated.

my passportt expires in november this year,, if my interview happens in june i may have 5 months of remaining months in my passport.. is that an issue?

Its a technical issue. Try it tomorrow. It may get fixed.

its also possible ( very remote chances ) that your number maybe on the list and you didnt get the interview email.

the requirement usually is to have a 6-8 month minimum validity ( also depends on country immigrating from ) from date of interview.

Is the petitioners birth certificate required for the CR-1 interview? I have not seen anyone say it is, and NVC never asked for it but the London Embassy website says this under required docs:

Birth Certificate: Obtain the original, or certified copy, of the birth record of each family member (yourself, your spouse, and all unmarried children under the age of 21, even if they are not immigrating with you. If the children are deceased, so state giving year of death).

Maybe I am reading it wrong, but it seems to say I do need it.

Seems to be a quote from a generic list of documents for immigrant visa interview. I don't think you'd need to actually bring the birth certificate of the petitioning US citizen. Maybe you should call them and ask specifically?

No its not needed or required. Most of what is on embassy websites for IR1/CR1 if its a DCF embassy is for those who bring their petitions to file their. So of course they have to do all that.

Whatever is sent to NVC and processed you need not worry about it at interview. Have copies sure but originals no.

I'm having serious trouble with this site. My husband and I can't figure out how to schedule his biometrics. step 5 on the link you provided says to follow instructions as per your category after logging in and clicking "schedule appointment". However, the only button we see after logging in is "new application/new appointment" on the left hand column opposite the "dashboard". clicking this leads to more problems. We select visa type, etc...but then it asks for personal info. Upon completion, it says the details match an ID already in their system. Get this....its the ONE I"M LOGGED IN AS! It won't let me continue beyond this.

I'm terrified and confused.
