Hi guys

Just a quick question to those of you who have used 1040x (amendment of tax return) and brought it to/or planning to bring it to the interview.

Basically the 1040x only lets you put the adjusted gross income on it, but we used total income on our I-864. NVC have the original return with the numbers matching but the 1040x I am going to give to the CO does not have a box for total income.

We are only filing the amendment to change the status because my wife made a mistake and filed as single. No income numbers have changed and the adjusted gross income match on both the 1040 and 1040x so that shows no amounts have changed. I just wish the 1040x had a box for total income.

Am I right to assume that this wont be a problem and the CO will still use the total income from the original return seeing as only the status has changed.

My wife's income is over 4 times the minimum and that's the main thing right?

We received this email from NVC today (April 11, 2014):

We have finished reviewing your case. We will tell you when we set an interview date for your case. Please do not contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in MANILA, PHILIPPINES about your interview until we give you the date.

We saw that either your Affidavit of Support was incomplete, some of your supporting documents were missing, or both. We have marked the missing items on the checklist below.

You should send any of the missing items to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx so he or she can take them to the visa interview. The Consular Officer will review the missing items at the time of the interview.

Does this mean our CASE is COMPLETE? What are we to do next? Will I be interviewed in May, 2014? Thanks!

Thanks! I dont think it will be different for different embassies but i will check for montreal for my case.

it doesn't hurt to bring one for the interview just in case they ask for the most recent ITR and updated I-864. I have read in some posts here that they were asked for it during the interview at the Manila Embassy so its better to have it handy.

Yea i guess if its easy enough for you to bring an updated one sure.. but for some people its not straightforward!

• U.S. Individual Income Tax Return

Or tax download from irs.gov ? If yes, which of the two?

• Tax Return Transcript
• Record of Account Transcript?

Transcripts are not required - especially in a country like Italy (low fraud)

But if you have access to them, there is no harm in bringing them along too.

Just have everything you can in your folder. The more the better.

Hey guys, I am new to this forum. Is there anyone familiar with the time it takes NVC from the moment they completed my application to the moment I get the interview? We just had our case completed by NVC and should get the notice in the next couple of weeks. My interview will be in the US consulate in Jerusalem, Anyone experienced with this location? If all goes well, do you know if I get the immigration package instantly at the end of the interview? (We are applying for a family based visa) Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the group. Every embassy is different. Israel is pretty fast. You had a late case complete (after they completed scheduling for the next month which is May interviews). The next Interview schedukling should start end of month 1st week of next month for June interviews.

But you never know some slots they may open up or someone cancels. All you can do is wait.

The case complete email comes 1 week after your case complete and Interview email comes with 24 hours of them scheduling you. Most start calling when interview scheduling starts. So stay tuned.

Be sure to fill out the Case complete form (link in my signature) so you can be added to the spreadsheet.
