I am planning to go back in philippines and conitinue my college..Do they recognize a degree from philippines?
I have two option weather to take pharmacy or take computer science.

If they're recognizing degree from there, Which has more higer employment rate between my option with no experience after passing exams

I understand that if you had degree from other country you must have to pass certain exams here in u.s

I am here to ask if it is really woth it going back there to finish my studies.

Have a good day everyone! thanks. :)

I suggest you try continuing your studies here while working. I had a hard time finding an Engineering job (I was a Civil Engineer in the Phils.) because of the long requirements. I have a 2nd degree which is BSN from the Phils also but I had to go back to square 1 with the requirements and exam, plus they wanted me to have an experience here. It's paying off though.

It's just my opinion based on my experience.

Good luck. . :dancing:

Great Plan:

I know if you get a BSN - Bachelor Science Nursing Degree you can come to USA and have your transcript evalutated and take the NCLEX to be RN in USA, No need to have experience and or a mess with the local boards exam in Philippines.

I don't know much about Pharmacy, but I would research and see how the degree works in USA. Might be a winner

As far as Computer Related I think the USA Companies will try to ship all this work out to 3rd world countries such as India and Phillippines so they can pay $6 per day for workers.

I would suggest Speech Pathology :) It's a very in-demand profession here in the US.

They accepted my bachelor's degree here (from UP-Manila) and I could have worked with just my bachelor's degree if I lived in CA, Tx etc, but in PA they require a masters degree so I went back to school here. Pay is good, I had multiple offers before I graduated. Plus its a very fulfilling profession :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png
